From Innovation to Translation
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to welcome you to The 6th International Conference on Materials (ICM 2026), which will take place in Manchester, UK, from 16 to 18 September 2026. This conference aims to bring together researchers, industry professionals, and experts from around the world to share the latest advancements, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations in the field of Materials Science.
Over the course of three days, we will explore a wide range of topics—biomaterials and bioelectronics; materials for the environment; energy, electronics, and magnetic materials; and materials for catalysis—through keynote lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions. Our program is designed to provide an engaging platform for discussing cutting-edge research, emerging challenges, and future directions in the field.
We encourage you to actively participate by presenting your work, engaging in discussions, and networking with fellow attendees. Beyond the scientific sessions, Manchester offers a welcoming setting to connect with colleagues while enjoying its picturesque architecture, cultural history, and strong academia.
We look forward to an inspiring and productive conference and to welcoming you to ICM 2026, hosted at Manchester Metropolitan University's outstanding new home for its Faculty of Science and Engineering, The Dalton Building.
Sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Maryam Tabrizian

Join us for the conference dinner on 17 September 2026, where delegates will have the opportunity to unwind, enjoy great food, and continue conversations in a relaxed and informal setting. The evening offers an excellent chance to connect with colleagues, strengthen existing collaborations, and meet new researchers from across the international community.
The Conference Dinner will be held at The Wharf, a welcoming canalside pub and restaurant in Manchester's historic Castlefield district. Located beside the picturesque Bridgewater Canal, the venue offers a relaxed atmosphere with indoor and outdoor spaces, making it an ideal setting to enjoy an evening with fellow delegates after a full day of conference sessions.

Guests will be served a three-course dinner consisting of a starter, a main course and dessert, accompanied by drinks. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other allergies or dietary requirements can all be accommodated - just let us know by using the comment box when registering.
To help break the ice and encourage conversations, the evening will also include a light-hearted networking activity, with a touch of friendly competition.

A seat at the dinner can be reserved for an additional 60 GBP, which can be added during registration. Simply select the dinner option along with your registration category (Academic, Student, etc.). If you have already registered without the dinner, you can register again, choosing only the dinner category.
Seating at the dinner is limited, and can be reserved as above on a first-come, first-served basis. Note that onsite registration will not be possible so we encourage participants to reserve their place early before spots run out.
The Wharf is approximately a 20-minute walk from the main conference venue.
For a more scenic route, head along Oxford Road towards First Street, before continuing to the historic Castlefield district. As you approach the canals, you'll pass converted Victorian warehouses, waterside cafés, and the picturesque Bridgewater Canal, offering a glimpse into Manchester's industrial heritage. If time allows, you may also wish to explore the nearby Roman Gardens or Castlefield Viaduct, a unique elevated urban park overlooking the canal network.
