Abstract
A synthetic route to prepare 4-methylumbelliferyl-ß-D-glucopyranosiduronic acid (MUG) from 4-methylumbelliferyl-ß-D-glucopyranoside (MUGluc) was developed affording the MUG with an overall yield of 37 % from the MUGluc.
