Abstract
1,4-C,O-dianions, produced through concomitant acid / base and tellurium / lithium exchange reactions were generated. The di-lithium salts were transmetallated with CeCl 3 to the corresponding di-cerium salts and reacted with carbonyl compounds yielding spiroketals. The di-lithium entities were also converted into the corresponding cyanocuprates which add in a 1,4-maner to 2-cyclohexen-1- one giving 1,6-dioxigenated compounds.
