Abstract
The synthesis of (S)-5-(tosylmethyl)-2-pyrrolidinone from (S)-pyroglutaminol [(S)-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-pyrrolidinone] in three steps and its applications into the synthesis of indolizidines is described in this communication.
