Green Power through a Modulated Single-Pool Tidal Energy System

Abstract

Renewable energy systems have much lower environmental impact than conventional energy technologies. Tidal energy is one of the most important forms of renewables.  The electricity production capacity is dependent on tidal height differences and water current flow. In this paper, a time-dependent mathematical model for green energy generation from a single-pool tidal system is developed. Using the model with available tidal data, the extracted energy can be calculated. Model results show that such a system has the capacity of producing 40.6 MW of electricity from tidal energy for a specific area.
