Abstract

Introduction: Are companies (Industry 5.0) led by digitally enabled dynamic capabilities powered by agentic artificial intelligence (Agentic AI) more likely to spread and scale regenerative circular deep tech (Bio)? Our study unveils the current state of digitally enabled green dynamic capabilities (Industry 5.0) powered by agentic AI to accelerate the diffusion and scaling of regenerative circular deep tech; and how green deep tech reinforces the sustainable performance of local communities.

Methods: Using a sample of Industry 5.0 companies, we hypothesized and found robust evidence of a positive relationship between digitally enabled green dynamic capabilities powered by agentic AI and agility in spreading regenerative circular deep tech in a sample of managers from Industry 5.0 companies in an emerging economy in the Global South – in this case, a region of Brazil.

Results and Conclusions: Our results, therefore, contribute to the discussion on the role of dynamic capabilities driven by Agentic AI in boosting regenerative circular green deep techs to improve the social, environmental, and economic prosperity of communities. As Agentic AI engages with dynamic green capabilities, the diffusion of regenerative circular deep techs intensifies, increasing the social well-being of local communities, strengthening the local bioeconomy, local waste management, community health, and reducing dependence on raw materials [repair, reuse, and recycling]. Thus, our study offers a timely warning about the beneficial link between regenerative circular deep techs incentivized by dynamic circular capabilities led by Agentic AI (from Industry 5.0 companies) to strengthen the sustainable performance of communities.
