Weak hadronic decays of bottom mesons have been investigated with a variety of theoretical frameworks. But we are still rather a long way from a model that can describe their occurrence in nature. Despite the theoretical diversity, we employ the topological quark diagram approach; this method provides a powerful tool for model-independent analysis. Axial-vector mesons remain one of the less explored sectors in Particle Physics, largely due to limited availability of experimental data. In this work we analyse axial-vector meson-producing meson decays. We employ a quark diagram scheme to analyse Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa enhanced and suppressed decay modes. Recent validation of predictions made by this technique motivated us to apply this technique to p-wave meson-producing decays. SU (3) flavour symmetry is used to relate the amplitudes extracted from various topologies of meson decays. The Group theory enables us to establish relations among amplitudes and branching fractions, based on symmetry groups. The relations where the branching of both the decays involved is known consolidate our method. The established relations allow us to study quark-level processes in these decays and to predict branching fractions of decay modes, which are yet to be observed. Our predictions may provide a useful platform to test theoretical models against the experimental data.
