Dear Colleagues,
It is a pleasure to welcome you to this webinar organized in the framework of the Agronomy Special Issue “Multifunctional Nanoparticles and Nano-Enabled Pesticides, Herbicides and Fertilizers in Agricultural Applications.” Nanotechnology is rapidly emerging as a transformative tool for modern agriculture. In particular, multifunctional nanoparticles and nano-enabled agrochemicals offer promising opportunities to enhance crop productivity, improve nutrient use efficiency, and develop more targeted and sustainable crop protection strategies. At the same time, these innovations raise important questions regarding environmental safety, regulatory frameworks, and long-term impacts on agroecosystems.
This webinar aims to bring together researchers working at the interface of nanotechnology, plant science, and sustainable agriculture to discuss recent advances, challenges, and future directions in this rapidly evolving field. By connecting fundamental research with practical agricultural applications, we hope to stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue and inspire new collaborations.

Meet Our Speakers
Dr. Ana Angélica Feregrino-Pérez
Faculty of Engineering, Autonomous University of Queretaro., Queretaro. Mexico;
Dr. Ana Angélica Feregrino Pérez is a faculty member at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ), Mexico, where she leads the Metabolites and Nanocomposites Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering. She holds a B.Sc. in Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from UAQ, as well as an M.Sc. in Neurobiology from UNAM. Dr. Feregrino’s research focuses on secondary metabolites, nutraceuticals, innovation, and value-added products. She has supervised undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral theses and participates actively in academic committees. She is a Level II member of the Mexican National System of Researchers and holds a PRODEP profile. Dr. Feregrino has authored publications in JCR-indexed journals, contributed chapters to books with publishers such as Springer and Elsevier, and has presented at national and international conferences. She has also served as a guest editor for special issues with publishers including MDPI and Hindawi and holds a registered trademark with patents in process.
Dr. Ramón Gerardo Guevara-González

Bachelor in Chemist & Microbiology, Master and PhD in Plant Biotechnology. Professor at the School of Engineering-Campus Amazcala. Expertise in Plant molecular biology, Plant pathology, Plant Biochemistry, Plant physiology of stress and Agricultural Microbiology. Associate Editor in the Journals: Scientia Horticulturae (Elsevier), Frontiers in Plant Science (Frontiers Media), Plants (MDPI) and BMC Plant Biology (Springer Nature). Two-hundred and twenty-two published papers in these fields in the Journal of Citation Reports (H-Index 39). Current research lines regarding Plant Stress responses to physical, chemical and biological stressors based on hormetic responses in plants and microorganisms, for future sustainable agricultural strategies.
