Evolution of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins and of the Genetic Code
On behalf of my guest co-editors, Prof. Keith Dunker, Prof. Prakash Kulkarni and Prof. Stefania Brocca, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to this webinar given by Prof. Keith Dunker. I’m very glad to serve as chair for this webinar aimed at advertising the special issue of the journal Biomolecules in Honour of Prof. V. Uversky on the Occasion of His 60th and entitled "Physics of Protein Folding, Misfolding, and Intrinsic Disorder".
Prof. Keith Dunker, together with Prof. Vladimir Uversky, played a pioneering role in initiating the field of intrinsic disorder. As such, it is particularly appropriate to host a webinar given by one of the "fathers" of protein intrinsic disorder to advertise this SI and to promote submissions to it.
Keith’s webinar today will focus on the evolution of IDPs, IDRs, and IDDs, as well as on the evolution of the genetic code and the suggested roles of IDPs in genome evolution.
