Alina Vasilescu has a background in Analytical Chemistry and obtained her BSc from the University of Bucharest, Romania in 1994. After a joint PhD in Chemistry at the University of Bucharest, Romania, and the University of Perpignan, France, and a postdoctoral stage at the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2003, she worked for several years in Canada in Analytical R&D in the pharmaceutical industry. She obtained a Martie Curie International Reintegration Grant and joined the International Centre of Biodynamics in Bucharest, Romania in 2011, where she coordinated the Applied Electrochemistry laboratory for 15 years. Currently, she works as a researcher at the National Institute for Research and Development in Biological Sciences in Bucharest, Romania.
