Dr. Weibin Shi

Dr. Weibin Shi is Professor of Radiology & Medical Imaging and Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia, USA. He is also faculty member of the Cardiovascular Research Center and the Center for Public Health and Genomics at the University. His research interest is in genetic and molecular aspects of atherosclerosis and its complications. His group has discovered over 70 novel loci for atherosclerosis and related traits in the mouse.
Dr. Voahanginirina Randriamboavonjy

Dr. Voahanginirina Randriamboavonjy is an assistant professor of molecular medicine at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany and the president of the European Society for Clinical Investigation.
Having been in the forefront of various interdisciplinary basic and translational cardiovascular and metabolic diseases research she is now leading clinical research at the health academy Hessen, Germany.
On Wednesday 14th September 2022 , MDPI and the Journal Cells organized the 20th Webinar on Cells entitled “ The Role of Inflammation in Atherosclerosis and Coronary Artery Disease”. This online seminar was chaired by Dr Weibin Shi and Dr. Voahanginirina Randriamboavonjy who was joined by Prof. Dr. Xiaofeng Yang from Centers for Metabolic Disease Research, Cardiovascular Research Center, Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, USA and Professor. Dr. Yin Tintut from Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles, USA. They presented their latest research on inflammation and calcification.
The presentations were followed by a Q&A and a discussion, moderated by the Chair’s. The webinar was offered via Zoom and required registration to attend.
