I’m currently working in Lyon, after 20 years in Nancy’s hospital. The Nancy’s team described the flexible intramedullary nailing more than 40 years ago and this technique remains the gold standard as treatment for the pediatric fractures.
My main topics are traumatology, malignant tumors and congenital abnormalities of the limbs.
I was the co-chair of trauma study group in EPOS during 4 years and I participed many times for teaching the FIN

Dr. Gergő Józsa is a dedicated medical professional with extensive expertise in pediatric surgery and trauma care. He graduated from the Medical University in 2009, subsequently specializing in pediatric surgery, hand surgery, and pediatric trauma surgery. Dr. Józsa earned his PhD in 2019 and achieved habilitation in 2024, focusing on the management of pediatric burns. He currently serves as the Head of the Pediatric Trauma Centre at the University of Pécs, where he leads innovative research and surgical advancements in pediatric orthopedics and trauma management.
Dr. Gergő Józsa completed his medical education at the Medical University in 2009, followed by specialization in Pediatric Surgery in 2015 and Hand Surgery in 2018. He concurrently specialized in Pediatric Trauma Surgery, enhancing his skills in managing critical pediatric injuries. In 2019, he earned his PhD, focusing on pediatric burn and trauma management. His habilitation in 2024 recognized his contributions to the field, particularly in the treatment of pediatric fractures and burn inuries. Dr. Józsa’s academic journey reflects a commitment to advancing pediatric surgical techniques and improving outcomes for young patients.
Dr. Gergő Józsa is currently the Head of the Pediatric Trauma Centre at the University of Pécs, where he oversees comprehensive care for pediatric patients with traumatic injuries. He leads a multidisciplinary team in providing specialized surgical interventions and innovative treatments. His clinical expertise spans pediatric surgery, hand surgery, and trauma surgery, with a particular focus on complex cases like juvenile osteochondral fractures and congenital hand disorders. Dr. Józsa is actively involved in research, contributing significantly to publications on pediatric orthopedic treatments and surgical innovations. His leadership and dedication have established him as a pivotal figure in advancing pediatric pediatric trauma care in Hungary.
