Dear Colleagues,
MDPI would like to invite you to join the MDPI Editor-in-Chief Forum | Agricultural Science. This forum intends to highlight exciting topics of smart farming and seed biology in agricultural science, which includes time for the discussion of presentations and it is totally free of charge.
We have invited the Editors-in-Chief of AgriEngineering and Seeds. Both have contributed extensively to our journals and are recognized for their outstanding achievements in precision agriculture and seed science, respectively.
We will record the lectures, with the agreement of the lecturers, and deposit them in our online database. We will continue to build this database with brief introductions and summaries of topics across this fascinating field of agronomy, horticulture, soil science, grasses, and related disciplines. We hope this event is of interest to you, and we welcome you to join us at this forum.
We look forward to seeing you at the MDPI Editor-in-Chief Forum | Agricultural Science. Please find below an outline of the presenters, who will introduce advances in smart farming and seed biology as well as the journals of AgriEngineering and Seeds.

Department of Land, Enviroment, Agriculture and Forestry, University of Padova, Italy;Francesco Marinello is Full Professor of Agricultural Mechanics at the Department of Land, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry (TESAF), University of Padova, Italy. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Padova and a PhD in Industrial Production Engineering, completed through a joint programme with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). His experience includes research and teaching in Italy, Denmark and Switzerland, and industrial experience in metrology and quality. Since joining the University of Padova as a researcher in 2012, Marinello has developed an interdisciplinary research profile at the intersection of agricultural engineering, measurement science and digital technologies. His work focuses on precision agriculture and smart farming, particularly sensors and measurement systems for soil, plants and agricultural machinery. He also investigates remote sensing, including satellite and UAV-based approaches, data analysis, digital agriculture, and the modelling and testing of agricultural machinery and autonomous systems. Another research area concerns the environmental performance of agriculture, including carbon footprint, water footprint and digitization footprint assessment. Marinello has contributed to research projects and collaborated with universities and companies in Italy and abroad. He teaches Agricultural Mechanics, Precision Farming, and Sustainability in agri-food production, and has supervised more than 200 undergraduate and master's theses. Since 2017, he has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia, USA. He is the director of Joint MSc degree in Food, Nutrition and Health and director of the PhD School of Land, Environment, Resources and Health at the University of Padova. He is author or co-author of more than 250 publications indexed in Scopus and five patents. His current research aims to support sustainable and digitally enabled agriculture by combining sensing, automation, data-dri
