Dr. Nektaria Zagorianakou
Department of Nursing, School of Health Sciences, University of Ioannina, Greece;
Dr. Nektaria Zagorianakou is an Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Department of Nursing, University of Ioannina, Greece. Her research focuses on gynecological cancers, including endometrial, ovarian, breast, laryngeal, and thyroid cancer. In addition to her academic work, she has published four books and a historical folklore album, and she is also a regular contributor to Athens Voice.
Prof. Georgios Makrydimas
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Ioannina, Greece;
Georgios Makrydimas is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ioannina, Greece, with expertise in maternal–fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancy. His academic and clinical work focuses on prenatal diagnosis, fetal medicine, and the management of complex obstetric conditions. He has an extensive publication record in international peer-reviewed journals and has contributed significantly to advancing clinical practice and research in obstetrics and gynecology. He is actively involved in medical education and training, contributing to the development of evidence-based approaches in maternal and fetal care.
Prof. Ioannis Georgiou
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Ioannina, Greece;
Dr. Ioannis A. Georgiou is Professor of Medical Genetics and Clinical Embryology Department of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, University of Ioannina, and Head of the Laboratory Units of Medical Genetics and Assisted Reproduction, at the University Hospital and the Medical School of Ioannina. His research interest in the Genetics of Human Reproduction, and he has published over 200 papers on this topic.
Dr. Efthalia Moustakli
Department of Nursing, School of Health Sciences, University of Ioannina, Greece;
Dr. Efthalia Moustakli is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Nursing, School of Health Sciences, University of Ioannina, Greece, and a Postdoctoral researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab, Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Ioannina. She completed her PhD at the Laboratory of Medical Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ioannina.
Her research focuses on reproductive medicine, with particular emphasis on oxidative stress, male and female infertility, and dietary and lifestyle interventions. Her work also explores genetic disorders, including the impact of advanced paternal age on fertility and associated risks to offspring, as well as the effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on reproductive health and pregnancy-related complications such as preeclampsia and placental dysfunction. She integrates bioinformatics and interdisciplinary digital approaches to investigate complex biological systems and support translational research in reproductive and genetic health.
