Dear Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 12th International Symposium on Sensor Science (I3S 2027), an event dedicated to bringing together leading researchers, industry professionals, innovators, and students from around the world to discuss the latest developments and future directions in sensor science and technology. Building on the success of previous editions, I3S continues its mission of fostering scientific exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation across the rapidly evolving sensing landscape.
Over the course of the symposium, participants will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge research spanning a broad range of topics, including advanced sensors and sensing technologies, biosensors, nanomaterials, electrochemical and optical sensors, chemical sensing systems, wearable and implantable devices, VOC sensing technologies, artificial intelligence for smart sensing, emerging sensing platforms, and sensing approaches in neurobiology. These themes reflect the increasing convergence of materials science, engineering, data analytics, healthcare, and biotechnology that is driving the next generation of sensing solutions.
The scientific program will feature keynote lectures, invited talks, oral presentations, and poster sessions designed to showcase recent breakthroughs, stimulate discussion, and encourage collaborations among participants from academia, industry, and government research institutions. The symposium will also provide a valuable platform for early-career researchers and students to present their work, exchange ideas with established experts, and build international networks that will support the future growth of our field.
Sensors are playing an increasingly critical role in addressing some of today’s most pressing challenges, from personalized healthcare and environmental monitoring to intelligent manufacturing, digital transformation, and neuroscience. As sensing technologies become more connected, miniaturized, autonomous, and data-driven, opportunities for innovation continue to expand. We believe I3S 2027 will serve as an ideal forum for discussing these opportunities and shaping the future of sensor science together.
We look forward to welcoming you to I3S 2027 and to an exciting and productive symposium!
Sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Spyridon Kintzios
Prof. Dr. Grigoris Kaltsas
Dr. Georgia Moschopoulou
