In celebration of the International Day of Education 2025, MDPI is delighted to announce a special webinar dedicated to fostering dialogue and collaboration among researchers, educators, and students. This event will explore inclusive, equitable, and innovative education strategies to ensure lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Education is a fundamental human right, a public good, and a shared responsibility. This webinar will provide a platform to discuss critical global educational challenges, advancements, and strategies. It also reinforces MDPI’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).

Through this initiative, we aim to connect members of the international open access community, encouraging them to share research findings, insights, and best practices. Together, we can contribute to building a more inclusive and sustainable future.

Dr. Albert Ziegler

Department of Psychology, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany;
Albert Ziegler, PhD, is Chair Professor of Educational Psychology and Research on Excellence at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He has published approximately 450 books, chapters, and articles in education and educational psychology. He is the Founding Chairman of the European Talent Support Network (ETSN). His main interests are educational interventions, self-regulated learning, motivation, talent development and mentoring.

Prof. Mark C. Mifsud

Centre for Environmental Education & Research, University of Malta, Malta;
Mark is a Chartered Biologist, Environmental Scientist, and Science Teacher with over 25 years of experience in Environmental Science and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). He is an Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Environmental Education and Research at the University of Malta, where he co-ordinates the Master in Education for Sustainable Development and the Certificate in Environmental Education and Interpretation. Mark has worked on nature park management, Environmental Impact Assessments, and policy advising. He has served on several national and international boards, including the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication, and was seconded as Coordinator of Policy for the Minister of Rural Affairs and the Environment. Mark is also the Deputy Head of the European School of Sustainability Science and Research and Chief Examiner for the International Baccalaureate’s Environmental Systems and Societies. With over 50 peer-reviewed papers, five books, and numerous conference contributions, Mark's research focuses on pro-environmental behavior, climate change education, and the Sustainable Development Goals. He is the Deputy Editor of the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education and holds editorial roles in sustainability journals.

Dr. Sarit Ashkenazi

The Seymour Fox School of Education, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel;
Dr. Sarit Ashkenazi is a prominent researcher and academic at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, specializing in the cognitive and neuropsychological aspects of mathematical learning and development. Her work emphasizes understanding the roots of learning disabilities, particularly their profound and lasting impact on individuals' well-being and daily functioning.By bridging the gap between neuroscience and education, Dr. Ashkenazi aims to improve teaching strategies and develop effective interventions for students with learning difficulties. She is deeply committed to applying her research to advance society in Israel and abroad. Her significant contributions to the field have earned her recognition in both academic and applied educational settings, highlighting her dedication to meaningful societal progress.

Prof. Dr. Helen Payne

School of Education, University of Hertfordshire, UK.;
Professor Helen Payne, PhD is a Full tenured Professor of Psychotherapy in the School of Life and Medical Sciences, Department of Psychology, Geography, Sport at the University of Hertfordshire, UK where she works part time conducting research, supervising clinicians/PhDs, teaching, examining doctorates and delivering keynotes nationally and internationally. A UK pioneer and global leader in movement psychotherapy, Founding Editor-in-Chief International Journal of Body, Movement and Dance in Psychotherapy (Taylor & Francis) she has research interests in areas such as enactive approaches to personal development, coaching, student mental health, and embodied approaches to psychotherapy, learning and research. She has a small private psychotherapy practice and trains facilitators online and f2f in The BodyMind Approach and the Discipline of Authentic Movement. She is currently writing new books on The BodyMind Approach and Authentic Movement, previous publications include The-Routledge-International-Handbook-of-Embodied-Perspectives-in-Psychotherapy/Payne-Koch-Tantia-Fuchs Essentials-Dance-Movement-Psychotherapy-International Helen enjoys walking/hiking and reformer Pilates.
