Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 2nd International Electronic Conference on Medicine - Exploring Cutting Edge Discoveries in Neurology (IECMD2025), which will take place online from 11 to 13 November 2025.

Conference Overview: This conference will present the latest studies in several fields of Neurology. The aim of this conference is to show the current state, challenges, opportunities, and future trends, and to allow the exchange of ideas and discussion of controversies and new possibilities for building collaboration among participants.

Key Themes: All clinical medicine-related scientists, researchers, and individuals are welcome to attend this event and share their findings pertaining, but not limited, to the following general and related themes:

  • Neurodegeneration and Neuroinflammation Across the Motor and Spinal Axis (Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, HD and Spinal Cord Injury);
  • Dementia Spectrum Disorders: From Frontotemporal Degeneration to Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease;
  • Stroke and Brain Injury;
  • Sleep Disorders;
  • Chronic Pain and Headaches.

Conference Format: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the conference committee. Following the conference, authors are welcome to submit a proceedings paper, where the publication fee will be waived. Selected contributions will be invited for submission to the journal Medicina (ISSN: 1648-9144; Impact Factor: 2.4), which ranks Q1 (78/332 in the Medicine, General & Internal category), CiteScore in 2024 (4.1), with a 20% discount on the publication fee.

Aaron E. Katz is a professor and Chair of the Department of Urology, NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine, Mineola, NY, USA. He completed his M.D. studies at New York Medical College in 1986. He has been recognized as one of Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors® and “Top Doctors” for the New York metro area. He has also been named one of the “Top Doctors on Long Island” by Newsday and a top doctor in New York Magazine for many years.

Dr. Simona Dragan is a distinguished cardiologist, educator, mentor, and researcher with over 30 years of experience in cardiovascular care. A graduate of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timișoara (1985), she specialized in Internal Medicine (1994) and Cardiology (1996), earned a Ph.D. in Coronary Artery Disease (1999), and received a European Cardiologist diploma (2005). With 114 publications and 170 conference presentations, her work is internationally recognized. Her research focuses on integrative medicine, functional foods, and metabolic diseases. Her academic influence extends beyond borders to the likes of the American universities of Duke and Georgetown, where she worked as a visiting professor. A Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and member of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Dragan is a passionate high achiever, who is renowned for her clinical excellence and academic impact.

Physiotherapist and researcher at the University of Oviedo, Spain. Degree in Physiotherapy (2004) from the University of Valladolid and a Masters in Manual therapy (2008) from the University of Zaragoza. In 2013, he completed his PhD thesis at the University of Murcia. Presently, his main research interests lie in the area of musculoskeletal treatment in adults patients with hemophilic arthropathy.

Mark Johnson is Professor of Pain and Analgesia. He is an international expert on the science of pain and its management and the world leader on transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). He has published over 300 peer reviewed articles. Prof. Mark has investigated the science of pain and its management since the mid 1980's and he is a world expert on transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS); his book on TENS was shortlisted for a British Medical Association Book Award. He has expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and in conducting clinical trials (phase 1-3), laboratory studies on humans, and evidence syntheses (meta-analyses, meta-ethnography and Cochrane reviews). He has attained over £2 million in research income, and he undertakes expert consultancy on behalf of the university for the public and private sectors (e.g., GlaxoSmithKline, Philips Research International, Medi-Direct International, the Committee of Advertising Practice). He is an editorial board member for journals and a member of various learned societies. He has published circa 300 peer reviewed articles and over 30 invited book chapters.

Dr. Cristian Falup Pecurariu

Faculty of Medicine, Transilvania University Brasov, Romania;
Dr. Cristian Falup-Pecurariu is Head of the Department of Neurology, County Clinic Hospital Brasov and Professor of Neurology, Transilvania University from Brasov, Romania. He holds a 1 year fellowship of the European Neurological Society in movement disorders and sleep medicine at Hospital Clinic, University of Barcelona, Spain. During his career he was President of the European Association of Young Neurologists and Trainees (EAYNT), EAYNT Liaison Officer with World Federation of Neurological Society, co-representative of Europe on the International Working Group for Young Neurologists and Trainees (World Federation of Neurology). He is MDS member from 2003. In the past he served in MDS as member and afterwards Chair of the Education Committee of MDS-ES, now being member of the Education Committee, Chair of the Non Motor PD Study Group, Chair of the COA Education and Training Program Committee. He is also former member of the Executive Committee of the MDS-ES, former member of the International Executive Committee of the MDS. In EAN he is serving as member of the Program Committee and of the Mentorship Task Force. He is the initiator and Course Director of the Brasov Movement Disorders Teaching Course (14 editions).

Q1. Is it still possible to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation at this time?
No, the abstract submission period closed on 15 September 2025. However, you may still register to participate in the live sessions until 8 November 2025.
Q2. I have been selected for an oral/poster presentation. When will it take place, and how can I join?
You can check the exact schedule on the conference program available on the official website. Within one week before the conference, you will receive multiple reminders with the login link and session details. Please make sure to check your email regularly.
Q3. My abstract was accepted as a poster presentation. How should the Poster Presentation be?
Poster presentations will be conducted online in the “Flash Poster Session” format, which includes a 5-minute live presentation to share your screen and quickly present your poster, without a Q&A session.
Q4. I cannot find the option or link to upload my poster. When and how can I upload it?
Only the submitting author has access to the upload function on Sciforum. If you cannot upload your file, please send it along with your Sciforum ID to iecmd2025@mdpi.com. Please upload your file to the Sciforum platform before the conference begins (before 11 November 2025).
Q5. Will I receive a Certificate of Participation? How and when will the certificates be issued?
Yes. All participants at the event and attendees to the live session are entitled to a certificate after the conference. Certificates will be available for download in the My Certificates section on Sciforum after conference closing, and you will be notified by email once they are ready.
Q6. My abstract has been accepted, but I did not receive a notification for an oral or poster presentation. Can I still present my work?
Due to limited time slots, not all accepted abstracts can be included as oral or poster presentations, which are selected by scientific committee. However, all accepted abstracts are eligible to upload a poster via your author dashboard. All uploaded posters will be displayed in the Poster Gallery section on the conference website from the start of the event, where participants can view and comment during the conference.
