On Thursday, 9 March 2023, MDPI and the Journal IJERPH organized the 11th Webinar of the IJERPH series, entitled “Advances in Hydrodynamic Cavitation Applications for Environment and Human Health”. This online seminar was chaired by Dr. Francesco Meneguzzo, Institute of Bioeconomy, Italian National Research Council, Italy.
The scientific interest in the fundamentals and applications of hydrodynamic cavitation is growing explosively during the last few years, which the chairman of the webinar interpreted as a prelude to widespread industrial uptake. Speakers at the webinar did confirm such interpretation. Prof. Dr. Levente Csóka highlighted both advanced mechanisms for water disinfection and real-scale applications to water remediation using hydrodynamic cavitation. Prof. Dr. Matevž Dular then taught the vast audience about the latest advances on the comprehension of basic phenomena and water disinfection at the bacterial level, with invaluable practical suggestions. Finally, Prof. Dr Giancarlo Cravotto, a giant in physical-chemical sciences, substantiated the title of his speech, showing how hydrodynamic cavitation is ready to serve, as either single-unit operation or integrated in industrial hybrid applications, as the enabling technology of modern bioeconomy. Speaker presentations were followed by Q&A sessions moderated by the chair.
The webinar was offered via Zoom and required registration to attend. The full recording can be found below. To stay updated on the next IJERPH webinars, be sure to sign up for our newsletter by clicking on “Subscribe” at the top of the page.
