He holds a PhD in Plant Breeding & Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and worked as a young researcher at UNALM (Perú) and Rutgers University. He has been a scientist and director at various CGIAR Consortium Centers, and held a Nordic professorship on plant genetic resources at the then Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. He has written more than 800 reports, of which around 50% are journal articles or edited book chapters with an h-index of 68 and cited by 17,445 scholars (as per Google Scholar on 2021.04.19). The CGIAR awarded IITA the prestigious 1994 King Baudouin Award for multidisciplinary research of a team working in plantain and banana improvement; he was program leader. Anna Andolfi’s research is in natural product chemistry, with special reference to fungal secondary metabolites. In particular, numerous bioactive compounds belonging to different classes of natural compounds were isolated and characterized. She has collaborated with many national and foreign research groups, and she has also taken part in several research projects financed by foreign and national institutions.

Pradhanang is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Geosciences, University of Rhode Island, and USA. She is the director of the Global Water Resources Minor Program at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Pradhanang has over 15 years of experience developing water quantity, availability and quality models using GIS and programming platforms. Her research focuses on developing hydrogeologic and hydrodynamic models to evaluate reliability, predictability and vulnerabilities of the water infrastructure including reservoirs, dams and spillways in maintaining safe and clean water to the communities. Her approach to integrated analysis of source water (both surface and ground) is central to evaluating management practices to develop guidelines to ensure the ecosystem protection. She conducts field, lab experiments/monitoring, numerical and physical modeling studies to uncover new knowledge about how natural and human-altered systems function and how they respond to change. She has served as a NYC Watershed Program Review Committee led by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, USA. Dr. Pradhanang also served as the lead scientist for the Thriving Earth Exchange, American Geophysical Union and was involved in evaluating urban flood in Connecticut and worked with the vulnerable communities to identify problems and address them through science and communication. She has authored and co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed journal and serves as the guest editor and reviewer for various journals in the field of water research.
