Department of Art History, Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, USA;Andrew M. Nedd teaches at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He specializes in the art of Russia, particularly the late imperial period. He received a Regional Scholar Exchange Program grant (RSEP - U.S. Department of State) and was a short-term residential fellow at Kennan Institute of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Summer 2016 he served as Scholar-in-Residence at Hillwood Estate, Museum and Garden in Washington, D.C. Professor Nedd published a book with Palgrave Macmillan in 2024: History and Myth in Pictorial Narratives of the Russian "Patriotic War," 1812-1914. In addition, Nedd contributed essays to the anthologies Russian Orientalism in a Global Context (2023); Portraits of Remembrance: Painting, Memory, and the First World War (2020); Illustrating History / Illustrer l’Histoire (2019); 1914: Guerre et Avant-Gardes (2016); and Picture This! Reading World War I Posters (2008). Nedd served as co-editor and contributor to the anthology Political Censorship of the Visual Arts in Nineteenth-Century Europe: Arresting Images (2015). He also published articles on contemporary Chinese art in the journals Yishu and Artpulse. Nedd served as guest editor of two special issues of Arts: “World War, Art, and Memory: 1914 to 1945,” and “Ukraine Under Fire: The Visual Arts in Ukraine and Abroad Since 2014.”
