Welcome from the Chair

Dear Colleagues,

We invite researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders in biomimetics to submit papers for the upcoming Biomimetics Conference 2025. This interdisciplinary conference will explore the frontiers of bioinspired technologies and systems, bringing together expertise from diverse fields to examine how nature’s principles can inform and revolutionize modern science, engineering, and design.

The conference will feature the following main sessions and welcomes submissions on these and related topics:
S1. Bioinspired Electronics
Examples include nature-inspired electronic materials and components; flexible, stretchable, and wearable electronics; self-healing circuits and biohybrid devices; and energy-efficient electronic designs modeled after biological systems.
S2. Bioinspired Computing—Algorithms and Prototypes
Examples include computational algorithms derived from biological processes, including neural, evolutionary, or swarm algorithms; prototype computing devices inspired by biological structures; neuromorphic computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning using biomimetic approaches; and bioinspired data processing and memory storage techniques.
S3. Bioinspired Materials—Structures, Surfaces, and Interfaces
Examples include the development of materials inspired by biological structures (e.g., lotus effect surfaces, spider silk-inspired fibres); interfaces and coatings mimicking biological surfaces; structural materials inspired by nature’s resilience and efficiency; and applications in medical, aerospace, and environmental sciences.
S4. Bioinspired Architecture and the Built Environment
Examples include sustainable building designs and materials influenced by biological systems; adaptive and responsive architectural systems; structural optimization based on natural forms; and biomimetic urban planning and green infrastructure.
S5. Bioinspired Robotics
Examples include robotics inspired by animal and plant biomechanics; autonomous and self-repairing robots; soft robotics, biomimetic actuators, and sensors; and swarm robotics and cooperative robotic systems.
S6. Bioinspired Arts
Examples include bioinspired music; art installations and visual arts inspired by biomimicry; bioinspired design in fashion, textiles, and product design; cross-disciplinary collaborations between art, science, and technology; and interactive and multimedia art influenced by natural systems.

We encourage submissions of original research, case studies, design prototypes, and conceptual frameworks that address any of the topics listed above. Submissions will be peer-reviewed by experts in the field, with selected papers being presented during the conference sessions and considered for publication in the conference proceedings.

Join us at the Biomimetics Conference 2025 to exchange insights, showcase innovations, and explore the future of bioinspired technology. Let nature inspire your next breakthrough!

Registration

Registration for IOCB2025 will be free of charge. Event registration provides access to all conference sessions.
If you are registering several people through the same registration, please do not use the same email address for each person, but their individual university email addresses. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note that the submission and registration are two separate processes. Only scholars who have registered can receive a link to access the conference live streaming. The deadline for registration is 13 September 2025.

Instructions for Authors

Procedure for Submission

The 2nd International Online Conference on Biomimetics will accept abstracts only. The accepted abstracts will be available online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference.

Important Deadlines

1. Deadline for abstract submission: 16 June 2025
2. Deadline for abstract acceptance notification: 13 August 2025. You will be notified of the acceptance of an oral presentation in a separate email.

Abstract Submission

Abstract submissions should be completed online by registering with www.sciforum.net and using the "New Submission" function once logged into the system. No physical template is necessary.

1. The structure abstract should include the introduction, methods, results, and conclusions sections of about 200–300 words in length.
2. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear, publication-ready English with accurate grammar and spelling.
3. You may submit multiple abstracts. However, only one abstract will be selected for oral presentation.

Detailed Requirements:
1. The submitting author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of the contents of the abstract.
2. Please select only one presenter for each submission. If you would like to change the presenter after submission, please email us accordingly.

Note:
We only accept live presentations.

Oral Presentation and Slides Submission
The slot for the oral presentation is 15 mins. We advise that your presentation lasts for a maximum of 12 mins, leaving at least 3 mins for the Q&A session.
Authors are encouraged to prepare a presentation in PowerPoint or similar software.
