Elena Lucchi is a Researcher in building physics at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAr), University of Pavia, Italy, and Getty Conservation Guest Scholar 2024/2025. She is an Architect with a PhD in building physics from the Politecnico di Milano, complemented by a post-Master's degree in environmental education from the Università Cattolica. Her research addresses the connections between energy, environment, and architecture, with a focus on energy efficiency, climate mitigation strategies, and integration of renewable energies in historic buildings and protected landscapes.

Dr Joyce Schoof is a Chartered Architect, sustainability expert, and researcher specialising in the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings to support Net Zero and social equity objectives. Her doctoral research at Loughborough University developed the Biophilic Value Framework, which integrates environmental quality, economic valuation, and wellbeing metrics to inform workplace design and decision-making. With over 20 years of professional experience, Joyce has led sustainability strategies for major UK and international projects, including LG Science Park in Seoul, Heathrow Terminal 2, and the Francis Crick Institute in London. She currently serves as Head of Programme Requirements for the UK Parliament's Restoration and Renewal Programme, leading the development of the programme needs and benefits framework for one of the UK's most significant heritage restorations. Alongside her professional practice, Joyce is actively engaged in architectural education and research. She has been an Industry Advisor to The Bartlett School of Architecture, University of Central London (UCL), since 2018 and has been appointed External Examiner for RIBA Part 1 and Part 2 architecture programmes at the University of East London (UEL) since 2025. Her research and professional work explore the intersections of sustainability, wellbeing, circular economy, and multi-sensory design. In recognition of her contributions to sustainable architecture and education, she was awarded Best Woman in Construction & Engineering (Sustainability & Environment) in 2023.

David Arditi is Professor Emeritus of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He founded and directed the Construction Engineering and Management Program. His expertise covers construction project management and engineering. During his 50-year academic career, he led numerous funded research projects and supervised Ph.D. and M.S. students from more than 20 countries. Dr. Arditi and his associates have published nearly 400 papers in refereed journals, books, and conference proceedings. As of March 2024, his publications have received over 15,800 citations with an h-index of 73 (Google Scholar). He serves on the editorial boards of 12 journals and is currently an active member of CMAA and ASCE.
