Dear colleagues,

It is our pleasure to invite you to join the 1st International Online Conference on CivilEng (IOCCI 2026). The conference is organized by the MDPI open access journal CivilEng (ISSN 2673-4109, Impact Factor: 2.8) and will be held online from 12-13 November 2026.

The agenda of the conference includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

S1: Mathematical Models for Civil Engineering;
S2: Urban, Economy, Management and Transportation Engineering;
S3: Structural and Earthquake Engineering;
S4: Water Resources and Coastal Engineering;
S5: Construction and Material Engineering.

IOCCI 2026 will enable you to share and discuss your most recent research findings, with the active engagement of the audience in question-and-answer sessions that will take place online without any registration fee.

The conference committee will review the submitted abstracts. Following the conference, outstanding contributions will be invited to be submitted as a full-length paper for publication in CivilEng with a 20% discount on the publication fee.

We hope you will join us, present your work at IOCCI 2026, and be part of this exciting online event.

Meet Our Speakers

Dr. Richard Crowder

Dr. Richard Crowder

Jacobs Ltd., Leeds, UK;
Richard Crowder is known for being a leader in digital technology and innovation, with 30 years of experience in project delivery, client relations, and operational oversight. A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, he is internationally recognised for advancing sustainable flood risk management. Since joining Jacobs in 2002, Richard has driven growth in the water sector, managed national programmes of work, and led major flood risk initiatives. Currently, he heads strategy and revenue for Jacobs Water Platform and directs the Jacobs suite of flood products, transforming flood management through innovative digital solutions.

Prof. Dr. Philip Griffiths

Prof. Dr. Philip Griffiths

School of Architecture and the Built Environment, Ulster University, Belfast, UK;
Philip Griffiths holds the chair in Building Physics at Ulster University, Belfast. He has a background in resource sciences and energy engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer and a fellow of the Energy Institute and the Institution of Civil Engineers. His subject specialisms include energy in buildings and renewable energy, with publications in the field of thermal energy storage and more recently the application of the circular economy to the built environment. He chairs the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers working group on Circular Economy, and he leads the communication and dissemination workpackage of COST Action CircularB.

Prof. Dr. Cholachat Rujikiatkamjorn

Prof. Dr. Cholachat Rujikiatkamjorn

Transport Research Centre, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Technology Sydney, New South Wales, Australia;
Cholachat Rujikiatkamjorn is a Professor at the Transport Research Centre, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Technology Sydney. He holds a BEng (First Class Honours) from Khon Kaen University, an MEng from the Asian Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Wollongong (UOW), where I received the Australian Geomechanics Society Thesis Award. His early career was recognised with several awards, including the IACMAG Outstanding Paper Award (2009), the Wollongong Trailblazer Award (2006), the DH Trollope Award (2012), and the ISSMGE Young Member Award (2013). He began his academic career as an ARC-DP Research Associate at UOW in 2006, working with Prof. Indraratna on granular mechanics. This collaboration led to joint PhD supervision and a strong publication record. He was appointed Lecturer in 2008, promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2010, and secured a prestigious ARC Centre of Excellence ECR award in 2011. In 2013, He became an Associate Professor and later served as Research Director for the School of Civil, Mining & Environmental Engineering, where he helped lead the successful ARC ITTC-Rail bid and continue to serve as its Technical Program Coordinator. In 2020, He joined UTS as Professor of Geotechnical Engineering and Program Leader for Transport Infrastructure Design at the UTS Transport Research Centre. He mentors early-career researchers and leads projects on innovative road and rail design, sustainable use of industrial by-products, and digital construction optimisation. His work has contributed to national standards, including the development of AS8700 on Vertical Drains in Soft Soils, influenced by his involvement in the Port of Brisbane reclamation project.
