Gianina Dodi works as an associate professor and principal research scientist at Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iasi, Romania. Her undergraduate training in medical bioengineering was at the same university, followed by further training in United Kingdom, first as an Erasmus student followed by PhD student fellowship at School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Portsmouth, Hampshire. Her research focuses on nanotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology and clinical trials, and has made a series of achievements of great significance. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles with a total citation of more than 2,500 times and an H-index of 25. Dr. Dodi has recognized project management skills (project manager for 2 grants and grant member in other 10), and international visibility as an expert at European Commission.

Daniela Opriș-Belinski, MD, PhD, Habil., is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Head of the Internal Medicine II Department at Sfânta Maria Clinical Hospital in Bucharest, Romania. She is a senior specialist in both internal medicine and rheumatology, with clinical and research expertise focused on immune-mediated rheumatic diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren’s disease, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and autoinflammatory disorders. She has authored or co-authored more than 200 scientific publications and book chapters, has served as principal investigator in over 50 international phase II–IV clinical trials, and is actively involved in several international scientific networks and editorial boards. Her work focuses on the interplay between immunity, systemic inflammation, clinical phenotypes, and targeted therapies in human disease.

Dr. Jacobo Sellares is a consultant pulmonologist at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, where he coordinates the Multidisciplinary Interstitial Lung Disease Unit. At IDIBAPS he leads the research group Mechanisms of Lung Injury: From Infection and Critical Illness to Fibrosis, and he is also a member of CIBERES. His work focuses on the mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis, with a particular interest in cellular ageing and in biomarkers of disease progression. He trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pittsburgh and continues to collaborate closely with groups in Europe and the United States. Within the European Respiratory Society he serves as Secretary of the Sarcoidosis Assembly and co-chairs the SARCOIDOMICS Clinical Research Collaboration, and he is Deputy Coordinator of the sarcoidosis core of ERN-LUNG. He has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Nafisa M. Jadavji is a Neuroscientist. She is an Assistant Professor in Division of Molecular and Integrative Physiology, Department of Biomedical Sciences, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in the School of Medicine. She completed her doctoral training at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. Her laboratory investigates how the brain responds to different biological processes throughout the lifespan. More specifically, her laboratory studies how the brain responds to changes in one-carbon metabolism, with a specific focus on maternal nutrition contributions to offspring neurodevelopment, neurological conditions (e.g. ischemic stroke and vascular dementia), and aging. The Jadavji Laboratory contributions to nutritional neuroscience aging research include providing an understanding on how increased levels of B-vitamins and choline can promote recovery after stroke. Furthermore, after ischemic stroke we have discovered that dietary deficiencies in vitamin B12 increase apoptosis in brain tissue and change mitochondria metabolism, specifically the TCA cycle in brain tissue. Their research has also focused on changes in the gut after ischemic stroke, we have shown that a dietary vitamin B12 deficiency prior to stroke impacts dysfunction in B12 transport.
