Prof. Dennis K.P Ng

Dennis K. P. Ng received his BSc and MPhil from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He then pursued his DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Oxford. After spending one year at the California Institute of Technology as a Research Fellow, he returned to his alma mater in 1994. He is presently a Professor in Department of Chemistry of CUHK. His current research interests lie in the chemistry of functional dyes, focusing on their synthesis, bioconjugation, bioorthogonal chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, and applications in phototherapy, bioimaging, and logic devices. So far, he has published more than 270 papers in international journals with a h-index of 65.

Prof. Dr. Diego Cazorla-Amorós

Dr. Diego Cazorla-Amorós is Full Professor at the University of Alicante in Spain. He spent pre- and postdoctoral stays at the Université Claude Bernard (France), Tohoku University (Japan), University of Amsterdam, and Brown University (USA). He has been Head of the Materials Institute and Director of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, both at the University of Alicante. He has also been President of the Spanish Carbon Group. He has published over 390 publications in peer reviewed journals and 18 patents (one of them led to a spin-off company and the technology for high pressure adsorption equipment was transferred to a multinational company). His research interests include the design of a wide range of materials and their use in energy storage and production and pollutant removal. He is also very much interested in the development and improvement of chemical technologies. He has received the 2025 European Carbon Association Award.

I received the Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Granada in 2003. I´m currently a professor of Pharmaceutical Technology, Clinical Pharmacy, Drug Delivery, as well as Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics, at the University of Granada (Spain). I have published more than 120 peer-reviewed research articles, 3 books and 30 book chapters, and 5 plenary lectures. I´m included in the Stanford University Ranking of the World Scientists: World's Top 2% Scientists, since 2020. I´m one of the corresponding academics of the Academia de Farmacia Santa María de España de la Región de Murcia, since 2023. My scientific activity has been recognized with 12 research awards. My research group is actively involved in the development of colloidal drug delivery systems against severe diseases. The area of specialization includes a focus on the formulation of advanced drug nanocarriers (mainly, magnetic-sensitive nanoplatforms), and on the engineering strategies for the preparation of theranostic nanoparticles.
