Dr. Pierre Desrochers

Dr. Desrochers is an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where his work focuses on economic development, technological innovation, and the intersection between business and the environment, as well as energy and food policy. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Montreal and has published extensively across multiple academic fields. In addition to his academic work, he is a Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute and an affiliate scholar with several other think tanks. Dr. Desrochers is also a prolific writer, having authored over 250 columns and op-eds featured in major international publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Le Monde. He has published and co-authored several books, including Population Bombed!, which was shortlisted for the Donner Prize. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Julian L. Simon Memorial Award in 2017.
