Dr. Eisenhut presented a summary of avenues increasing the likelihood of autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) in offspring modifiable by individualized partner choice. Assortative mating behaviour was presented, which refers to the increased likelihood of offspring having ASD due to the parents choosing each other because of the presence of ASD features in the spouse, reflecting how ASD genes increase the genetic burden in the offspring. Dr. Eisenhut provided evidence that the degree of parental heterogeneity is linked to the likelihood of ASD in the offspring, as mating from a different genetic background uncouples ASD genes form co-evolved mitigating genes.
Professor Torres presented data from investigations into objective behavioral phenotype analysis using a statistical platform focusing on characteristics of micro-movements during human maturation in ASD. She explained results of investigations into the variability in gene expression distance to categorize autism and disorders of the nervous systems. In this context, she presented the characteristics of auditor perception in ASD.
Dr. Olga Sysoeva explained neurophysiological profiling, focusing on unusual responses to sensory stimuli, including auditory perception, using syndromic autism spectrum disorders, using Rett syndrome as example through analysis of the electroencephalogram; data correlated the patterns in the relationship to specific genetic syndromes.
