On 9 February 2022, the Life Webinar of Bioinformatics Methods for Single Cell Sequencing Data Analysis was held online.

First, Prof. Xiao Dong from University of Minnesota gave a talk of Discovering Somatic Mutations in Single Cells during Aging. He deciphered the complex relationships among somatic mutation, cancer and aging.

Then, Prof. Yungang Xu from Xi'an Jiaotong University presented his work of Generative Adversarial Networks for Single-Cell RNA-Seq Imputation. The software he developed, scIGANs, has been widely used for single cell RNA-Seq data preprocessing.

The third speaker, Prof. Xianwen Ren from Peking University, shared his recent work of Spatial Reconstruction of Single-Cell RNA-Seq Data: A de novo Approach. He developed a tool called CSOmap which can infer the 3D coordinates of cells, statistical significance of cell clusters and dominant ligand-receptor pairs.

Last, the Webinar Chair Prof. Tao Huang presented his work of Cell Marker Identification with Machine Learning Methods which was published on Life Special Issue. He applied Explainable Machine learning model with Feature selection to investigate the expression patterns of cell biomarkers.

The webinar was offered via Zoom and required registration to attend. The full recording can be found here on Sciforum website. In order to stay updated on the next webinars on Life, be sure to sign up for our newsletter by clicking on “Subscribe” at the top of the page.
