On Wednesday, 9 March 2022, MDPI and the Journal Machines organized the first webinar on Machines, entitled "Design and Control of Electrical Machines".

The introduction was held by the Chair of the webinar, Prof. Dr. Fu-Cheng Wang, a Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the National Taiwan University in Taiwan. His research interests include robust control, vibration control, system integration, medical engineering, and energy systems.

The first speaker to kick off this webinar was Prof. Dr. Jia-Yush Yen from the Mechanical Engineering Department at the National Taiwan University in Taiwan. His research interests are in the areas of mechatronic systems, computer peripherals, and nano-manipulations. His presentation was entitled "Machine Learning for High Precision Servo System Design".

The second presentation with the title "Intelligent Fault Diagnosis of Rotary Machinery Systems" was held by Prof. Dr. Hamid Reza Karimi. His original research and development achievements span a broad spectrum within the topic of control systems, mechatronics, intelligent systems, and fault diagnosis with applications such as vehicles, robotics and manufacturing systems. He is currently Professor of Applied Mechanics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy.

The presentations were followed by a Q&A and a discussion, moderated by the Chair. The webinar was offered via Zoom and required registration to attend.
