The Role of Multimodality Imaging in heart valve disease: focus on Aortic Stenosis and Mitral Regurgitation
It is a honor for us to host the webinar titled “The Role of Multimodality Imaging in heart valve disease: focus on Aortic Stenosis and Mitral Regurgitation”.
This webinar aims to offer a comprehensive overview of diagnosis and treatment of most prevalent valvular heart disease (aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation).
Since these patients need a multimodality imaging approach to diagnose the severity of valvular disease and to plan the best treatment, experienced imaging cardiologist will join this meeting to discuss the updates on valvular disease, after publication of last ESC guidelines. Beyond current therapeutic standards, the speakers will present updated evidence about new treatment and recommendation, their specific indications and the best timing of the treatment.
This webinar is addressed not only to imaging cardiologist, but also to clinical cardiologist, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologist and general practitioners, because the recent advances in this field dramatically improved survival and quality of life of such patients.

Event Chair
Department of Cardio-Imaging, Humanitas Gavazzeni Hospital, Bergamo, Italy
Dr. Maria Lo Monaco is consultant in Cardiology, specialized in Cardiac Imaging. In present she is working in Cardio-Imaging Department in Humanitas Gavazzeni, performing CT scan, transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and interventional echocardiography and CMR. She got ESC certification on CT level 3, CMR level 3, TOE, TTE. Many papers she published until now, almost all dedicated to the topic of cardiac imaging and heart valvular disease.
Keynote Speakers
Cardiology Unit, Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria di Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy
Federico Marchini is a cardiologist and PhD candidate specialized in cardiac multimodality imaging. He works in the Cardiology Department of the University Hospital of Ferrara. His clinical and research activity is mainly focused on ultrasound imaging and cardiovascular magnetic resonance. He’s author of several articles published in peer reviewed journals and he’s involved in several research projects.
Department of Perioperative Cardiology and Cardiovascular Imaging, Centro Cardiologico Monzino IRCCS, Milano, Italy
Dr. Kamil Stankowski a consultant cardiologist specialized in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, with a particular focus on transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography (CT), and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). During his specialist training, he completed an advanced program in echocardiography at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and gained expertise in cardiac imaging (CT and MRI) at Hospital Santa Cruz in Lisbon. He is also actively involved in research in the field of cardiovascular imaging.
