Welcome from the Chair

We are pleased to announce the fourth Nursing Reports Reviewer Club Webinar—an exclusive quarterly event recognizing our reviewers for their contribution to the journal.

This webinar will focus on the theme, "Towards a Constructive Peer Review", including:

  • Constructive Feedback in Peer Review

  • Developing a Checklist to Streamline the Review Process

  • Current Trends and Innovations in Peer Review

  • Peer Review and Research Transparency

  • Peer-review Mentorship for Young Generation

The Nursing Reports Reviewer Club Webinar is open to all, including established reviewers, early-career researchers, and those interested in learning more about peer review. Participants will gain insights into maintaining ethical standards and enhancing review quality and communication, to enhance their reviewing expertise and contribute to maintaining high standards in scholarly publishing.

Bio
Professor Phillip Della is a John Curtin Distinguished Emeritus Professor at Curtin University, Australia. He has had a distinguished career in nursing, healthcare leadership, and health policy, contributing extensively to nursing and midwifery education, clinical governance, and healthcare service delivery. Over more than four decades in the health sector, he has held several senior leadership roles, including serving as the Chief Nursing Officer of Western Australia from 1999 to 2008, where he played a key role in advancing nursing and midwifery practice and policy. Professor Della’s research interests include healthcare quality and safety, clinical communication, nursing leadership, and health service management. His work focuses on improving patient care through policy development, professional education, and interdisciplinary collaboration within healthcare systems. He has also contributed to national initiatives in nursing regulation, accreditation standards, and workforce development in Australia.

Elevating Scholarly Work Through Peer Review: Strategies to Improve Manuscript Quality Using Clear, Constructive Feedback.
Bio
Dr. Sarver is an Assistant Professor at Cleveland State University in the School of Nursing and recently served as the Interim Graduate Program Coordinator. She also works on her program of research surrounding prep to practice issues, transition shock theory in experienced nurses, and healthcare management. She serves on multiple committees at the university, and at state level nursing organizations. In her previous role at MetroHealth, Dr. Sarver served as the Department Coordinator for Nursing Research, where she played a key role in a program recognized twice by the Magnet Program as an Exemplar. Dr. Sarver has supported staff nurses in all phases of research and has completed her master's and PhD in nursing. She has published and presented research on nursing education, teamwork, and missed nursing care, and authored a book chapter on disseminating data. Dr. Sarver has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio University and obtained her initial nursing degree from Case Western Reserve University, completing her Master of Science in Nursing and PhD from Kent State University.

The Role of Reviewer in Ensuring Credible Content
Bio
Dr. Tam is a Research Assistant Professor of the Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also a registered nurse, clinical mentor, and nursing education with extensive experience in emergency nursing and teaching. His research interests focus on evidence-based practice, cardiovascular diseases management, and gerontological care. He has published more than 40 articles in international peer-reviewed journals. He serves as reviewer in several international reputed journals and has reviewed more than 250 manuscripts, on average 40 peer review per year. He is also the editorial board member of a Q1 nursing journal and has managed more than 100 manuscript submissions since 2023. Dr. Tam has been selected to receive the editor of distinction award in 2025. His quality of peer review and timely decision-making for manuscript are being recognized.
