It is my pleasure to invite you to join the webinar on “Magnetic Nanoparticles for Biomedical and Environmental Applications” of the journal Nanomaterials.
To achieve the goal of publishing high-quality, high-impact research about the synthesis and applications magnetic nanoparticles, we have invited leaders in the field as speakers. Through our efforts, we all hope to make contributions to the development of these strategically important areas.
As part of our joint efforts, today, I am pleased to host the webinar fully dedicated to Magnetic Nanoparticles. I am honored to introduce our distinguished invited speakers, leaders in their fields. Prof. Isabel Izquierdo-Barba from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Complutense University, Madrid will talk about the synthesis and application of Nanomaterials to treat bone disorders. Dr. Alvaro Gallo Cordova and Prof. María del Puerto Morales of the MaMBIO group of the Institute of Material Science in Madrid (ICMM/CSIC) will talk about Microwave-assisted Synthesis of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles for Environmental Applications.
I look forward to welcoming you and “meeting” with you online at the webinar. I hope you will enjoy the inspiring and exciting speeches.

On the 29th of April 2024, MDPI and the journal Nanomaterials (ISSN: 2079-4991) organized a webinar on Magnetic Nanoparticles for Biomedical and Environmental Applications. This webinar focused on the potential of magnetic nanoparticles from an applications perspective. Diverse types of functionalized magnetic nanoparticles were discussed, and also hierarchical structures formed from them.
The webinar featured two distinguished speakers with extensive expertise in the field. Prof. Isabel Izquierdo Barba talked about the ways to fabricate and employ nanomaterials to treat bone disorders. Dr. Alvaro Gallo-Cordova presented the research developed at MAMBIO Group, headed by Prof. María del Puerto Morales, delving into the key parameters of microwave-assisted polyol synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles and their application for environmental remediation, particularly in the magnetic induction heating-assisted degradation of organic pollutants.
The webinar was hosted via Zoom and required registration to attend. The full recording can be found below. In order to learn about future webinars, you can sign up to our newsletter by clicking “Subscribe” at the top of the page.
