Dr. Yugender Goud Kotagiri

Dr. Yugender Goud Kotagiri

Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, Kerala, India;
Dr. Yugender Goud Kotagiri received his M.Sc. in chemistry with a specialization in modern methods of chemical analysis (MMCA) in 2011 from the Department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Telangana, India. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry in 2017 from the Department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He worked as an Erasmus Mundus Euphrates Ph.D. student in the BAE Laboratory, Université de Perpignan Via Domitia, Perpignan, France, from 2015 to 2017. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California San Diego and Johns Hopkins University, USA, from 2018 to 2022. Currently, he works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad. His current research interests are the development of wearable and portable biosensors for healthcare, agricultural, and security applications. He has published over 60 journals in reputable international and national journals. His name was featured in the “world’s top 2% scientists database” by Stanford University, USA, for the years 2021 and 2022 in the category of Analytical Chemistry and Energy.

On 30 July 2024, MDPI’s journal Sensors hosted a webinar titled 'Wearable Electrochemical Sensor' on sciforum.net.

Wearable electrochemical sensors provide continuous, real-time information on physiological biomarkers/drugs via dynamic, minimally invasive or non-invasive measurements. There is unlimited scope to investigate the biomedical, agricultural, environmental, and security applications of portable and wearable sensors as significant research themes. Innovative strategies in the fabrication of non-invasive and minimally invasive wearable sensing devices facilitate the continuous monitoring of vital biomarkers/drugs in physiological body fluids, including sweat, tears, saliva, interstitial fluid, and nasal fluid. This online webinar, with presentations by Prof. Yugender Goud Kotagiri and Roger Narayan, considered innovations in wearable electrochemical sensors for a variety of applications.
