Dr. Anna Chiara De Luca
Institute of experimental Endocrinology and Oncology “G. Salvatore” – IEOS Second Unit, National Research Council of Italy;
Anna Chiara De Luca is a senior researcher at the Institute of Experimental Endocrinology and Oncology of the National Research Council in Naples (IEOS 2nd Unit – CNR), where she is head of the “Biophotonics and Advanced Microscopy” laboratory.
Her research interests include Raman spectroscopy, SERS, biosensors, label-free imaging and correlative microscopy. She has published more than 80 papers in reputed journals. She has been recognized with numerous prestigious research grants, including a grant from AIRC, Italian “future in Science” grant (FIRB), PON from Italian Ministry of Research and University, POR from Campania Region, a grant from the Ministry of Health, @CNR grant and PNRR Grant. In 2015, she became a member of the Euro-bioimaging ERIC infrastructure (EuBi) – Advanced Light Microscopy Italian Node (ALM) in Naples, serving as a technology advisor. Since 2020, she has been the manager of the Joint Research Unit for the development and managing of the research activities of the 4 AML nodes of EuBi.

On Monday 26th September 2022 , MDPI and the Journal Sensors organized the 7th Webinar on Sensors entitled “Optical Biosensors”. This online seminar was chaired by Dr. Anna Chiara De Luca, who was joined by four world-leading scientists including Dr. Ilaria Rea of Institute of Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems, Naples Unit, National Research Council, Italy; Professor Dr Andrea Cusano- Engineering Department, University of Sannio, Italy; Dr. Giovanni Volpe- Physics Department, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Dr Giovanni’s presentation has been removed from the recording upon their request. The presentations detailed development and application of optical technologies and novel materials for the targeted detection of trace biological compounds for molecularly oriented medical diagnostics. This included specific presentations on Hybrid Nanostructured Materials for Optical Biosensing, Nanotechnology on Fibers: New Avenues for Point of Care Platforms and Pushing the Limits of Detection of Biomolecules with Light and Machine Learning.
The presentations were followed by a Q&A and a discussion, moderated by the Chair. The webinar was offered via Zoom and required registration to attend.
