Meet Our Speakers
Prof. Nicola Magnavita
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy;
Nicola Magnavita was Professor of Occupational Medicine and Director of the postgraduate School of Occupational Health at Catholic University of the Sacred Hearth of Rome, Italy. He retired in November 2023, after over 44 years of teaching in the university and assistance in the university hospital. He is currently teaching in the same university and working as a consultant in some public and private companies. His main areas of expertise are personalised occupational health, psychosocial factors, health promotion, management of hazardous workers, occupational epidemiology, workplace violence, sleep. He has directed 38 research projects. He published >900 papers. Scopus h-index: 49, Web of Sciences h-index: 45, Google Scholar h-index: 64. He has 5 copyrights. The professor is Editor-in-Chief of the Health Care section of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH) and is Academic Editor of Applied Sciences; BMC Public Health; EJIHPE; Psychology International; AIMS Public Health.
Dr. Donatella Rita Petretto
Department of Pedagogy, Psychology and Philosophy, Faculty of Humanistic Studies, University of Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy;
Donatella Petretto is an Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology and Philosophy, as well as a former researcher of Clinical Psychology; since 2010, she has been delegated by the Rector of the University of Cagliari for the coordination and monitoring of initiatives in support of students with disabilities (Law 17 of 1999) for all initiatives concerning social integration and the rights of persons with disabilities, specific disabilities and other learning difficulties.
A member of the National University Conference of the Delegates of the Rectors of Disability (CNUDD), psychologist, specialist in Neuropsychology and quality referent of the master’s degree in psychology, she has also been a contact person at UniCa for the quality management of the degree course in Developmental Psychology and Socio-occupational Processes. She’s been member of the Board of the Psychology Department and member of the Ethics Committee of the same department, Lecturer in various courses related to disability psychology and clinical psychology. Since 2005, she has taught in numerous degree courses in Psychology, in the fields of disability psychology and clinical psychology, in the Graduate School for Secondary School Teachers, in Primary Education Sciences and in the Health Professions.
From the academic year 2019-2020 she is a Neuropsychopathology and Neurorehabilitation professor in the degree course in Psychological Sciences and Techniques.
Dr. Marios Adamou

Marios Adamou is a Consultant Psychiatrist in neurodevelopmental psychiatry (ADHD and ASD) at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. He is the Head of Specialist Service Development and Foundation Trust Governor at the same organisation. He is a board member of the Governing body of East Ridings Clinical Commissioning Group. He holds offices at the Royal College of Psychiatrists where he is a member (MRCPsych). He is presently the Deputy Regional Advisor for the Yorkshire Region, elected member of the Executive Committee of the Faculty of General Adult Psychiatry whose is the policy lead, and co-opted member for the Northern and Yorkshire Division.
His Medical Training (MD) was completed at the Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece and his Psychiatric training at Guys, Kings and St Thomas's scheme in London. He held full time research positions at the University of Kent and Institute of Psychiatry, London.
Marios has academic qualifications in a number of disciplines. He completed postgraduate degrees (MSc) in Mental Health Studies, MA (History), LL.M (Medical Law), MBA (Business Administration) and PGCE (Medical Education). He earned a postgraduate diploma in Occupational Medicine (DOccMed) awarded by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians. He completed a PhD by research.
He is an International Fellow at the Centre for Innovation in Health Management at the University of Leeds and Executive Committee Member at the UK adult ADHD Network (UKAAN). He is the Chair of the Northern Adult ADHD Clinician's Group (NACG).
He is a Professor of Huddersfield University, fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH) and the Society of Biology (FSB). He is a founding member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMgr MCMI), member of the Institute of Directors (MIOD) and Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd).

In commemoration of World Mental Health Day <https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-mental-health-day>, MDPI is organizing a special webinar to encourage researchers to join together, take action, and raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. It is an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and the progress that must be made to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
This year’s theme, set by the World Federation for Mental Health, is access to services: mental health in catastrophes and emergencies. This webinar will provide a platform for meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange on the sercives of mental health in catastrophes and emergencies.
