Instructions for Authors
Generic information

The 8th International Symposium on Sensor Science will accept:

  1. A 200-word abstract in English for the booklet (electronic version) and
  2. A min 2-pages and max 4-pages extended abstract for the proceedings (PDF format), with Title, Affiliations, Abstract, Introduction, Results and Conclusions (with Figures and/or Tables) and References.
  3. About Poster presentation:
    If the abstract is accepted for Poster Presentation, the author will be invited to submit a poster presentation file (PDF). Please send your Poster PDF file to i3s2021@mdpi.com before 19 April 2021 and follow the poster instructions: 1)The poster should be in PDF format 2)The minimum size for images is 148 mm × 210 mm (horizontal × vertical) at 300 dpi. 3)The content of the poster should be a comprehensive presentation of your accepted submission. 4) No copyright issues with any elements in the poster.
  4. About Oral presentation
    The slot for Oral presentation is 15 mins. We would advise preparing your presentation for a maximum of 10-12 mins to leave at least 3 mins for Q&A. The video of your presentation should be saved in mp4 format – this will be used in case of a bad connection.
To present your research at the event
  • Create an account on Sciforum if you do not have one, then click on New Submission on the upper-right corner of the window OR click on Submit Abstract on the Conference website.
  • Indicate which thematic area is best suited for your research.
  • Submit a 200-word abstract in English - the word limits are minimum 150 words and maximum 250 words.
  • The deadline to submit your abstract is 30 January 2020 26 January 2021. You will be notified by 02 March 2021 regarding the acceptance for poster presentation.
  • Upon submission, you can select if you also wish to be considered for oral presentation. Following assessment by the Chairs, you will be notified by 02 March 2021 in a separate email whether your contribution has been accepted for oral online presentation.
  • After the short abstract be accepted, you could submit a min 2-pages and max 4-pages extended abstract for the proceedings (download the template here), with Title, Affiliations, Abstract, Introduction, Results and Conclusions (with Figures and/or Tables) and References. This can be submitted in word format at any time prior to the conference. Please carefully read the rules outlined in the 'Instructions for Authors' on the journal website and ensure that your manuscript submission adheres to these guidelines.
  • Please note that only the submitting users have rights to upload the extended abstracts in the system (Log in, then click on My Submissions on the upper-right corner of the window, and then upload the extended version on your accepted abstracts).
  • Note: in order to finalize the scientific program in due time, at least one registration by any of the authors, denoted as Covering Author, is required to cover the presentation and publication of any accepted abstract. Covering Author registration deadline is 10 April 2021.
