The Transformative Role of Advanced Ultrasound: From Focal Lesions to Fibrosis
Dear Colleague,
The landscape of chronic liver disease management is evolving at the bedside. The keys to this? Unprecedented real-time visualization, uncompromised patient safety, and quantitative precision—all powered by advanced ultrasound. But to harness this full potential, a multi-faceted understanding is essential.
The Livers journal invites you to a definitive webinar that moves beyond theory into actionable, expert-led practice: "The Transformative Role of Advanced Ultrasound: From Focal Lesions to Fibrosis."
Join us for a unique session featuring three distinct masterclasses from Europe's leading authorities. This is your opportunity to integrate cutting-edge techniques into your diagnostic workflow.
- The Diagnostic Arbiter: Characterizing Focal Liver Lesions
Our first deep dive will demystify focal lesion diagnosis. With Dr. Francesco Giangregorio, we will explore "Characterization of Benign and Malignant Focal Liver Lesions With CEUS." He will translate guideline algorithms (LI-RADS, EFSUMB) into practical steps, teaching you how to interpret critical wash-in and wash-out patterns in real time to confidently distinguish between HCC, metastases, hemangiomas, and FNH—reducing unnecessary referrals and biopsies.
- The Vascular Cartographer: Mapping Hepatic Hemodynamics
Next, we shift from parenchyma to pipeline. Prof. Carla Serra will guide us through "Hepatic Vascular Evaluation With CEUS (Hepatic Artery, Portal Vein and Hepatic Veins)." Discover how CEUS surpasses Doppler in evaluating vessel patency, detecting shunts, and characterizing complex vascular complications like Budd–Chiari syndrome or TIPS dysfunction. This segment is crucial for managing portal hypertension and pre-surgical planning.
- The Parenchymal Quantifier: Measuring Stiffness and Fat
Finally, we complement dynamic imaging with tissue quantification. With Prof. Giovanna Ferraioli, a world leader in the field, we will address "Hepatic Fibrosis and Steatosis Evaluation With Elastography." Move beyond guesswork. Learn the latest protocols and evidence for using shear-wave elastography to stage fibrosis and controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) to quantify steatosis, creating a powerful, non-invasive "virtual biopsy" for metabolic liver disease.
