In this webinar, the Editor-in Chief of the Logistics journal, Rob Handfield, will interview two academic luminaries in the field who preside over innovations in the new world. Jay Golden, Potarelli Professor of Environmental Sustainability and Finance, and Director of the Dynamic Sustainability Lab at Syracuse University, will provide insights into the significant trends and movements in the ESG world, and how these will impact logistics, agriculture, and sustainable production in the next decade. Theodore P. (Ted) Stank is the Harry J. and Vivienne R. Bruce Chair of Excellence in Business in the Department of Supply Chain Management and is the Faculty Director of the Global Supply Chain Institute at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Ted will share insights regarding the digitization of logistics, how AI and robotics will dynamically alter logistics and the warehouse environment, and current trends in transportation automation.

Prof. Dr. Theodore Stank

Theodore Stank leads the Advanced Supply Chain Collaborative, a joint initiative between UT and leading Fortune 500 partner firms, focused on better understanding innovative applications in SCM. He assumed the Bruce Chair following six years in a variety of administrative positions in the Haslam College of Business, including Department Head for Marketing and Logistics, Associate Dean for Academic Programs, and Associate Dean of the Center for Executive Education. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and Distribution from The University of Georgia, an M.A. in Business Administration from Webster University, and a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy.

Jay S. Golden is the Director of the Dynamic Sustainability Lab at Syracuse University, where he became the Pontarelli Professor of Environmental Sustainability and Finance in the fall of 2021. Golden was appointed to the Board of Scientific Counselors for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where he continues to serve on the Executive Committee. Golden is the recipient of the Faculty Pioneer Award from the Center for Business Education at the Aspen Institute. The Aspen Institute's Faculty Pioneer Award is the "Oscars of the business school world" according to The Financial Times. Golden was also named one of the top 100 most influential people in business ethics by the Ethisphere Institute. In 2017, Golden was appointed to the Board of Scientific Counselors for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he continues to serve on the Executive Committee. Golden consults for governments and corporations around the world and is the author of the forthcoming book Dynamic Sustainability¸which is to be released in 2023 by Cambridge University Press. Golden was the faculty chair of the Business and Environment program at Duke University and was one of the first faculty members in the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University. He has also served as a Vice Chancellor and as the President of U.S. research universities.
