Join Us Online at the MDPI Scientific Publishing Exchange with Newcastle University in Singapore

MDPI is hosting a Scientific Publishing Exchange with Newcastle University in Singapore. This session will offer authors a comprehensive overview of the open access landscape, including MDPI's processes and opportunities tailored for postgraduate students pursuing a part-time Ph.D. This workshop aims to provide participants with practical tools and insights to navigate the journey from manuscript preparation to successful publication.

Bio
Dr. Anurag Sharma serves as the Director of Postgraduate Research and an Associate Professor in Electrical Power Engineering at Newcastle University's Singapore campus. His research expertise encompasses sustainable energy solutions, smart grids, and the planning of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Dr. Sharma’s work delves into the integration of artificial intelligence with electric power systems, addressing contemporary challenges and exploring future possibilities in energy management. His recent research includes a quantitative study on residential energy consumption in Singapore, utilising machine learning approaches to analyse demographic and personality influences. He is also a Senior Member of the IEEE and currently serves as the Chair of the IEEE Power and Energy Society Singapore Chapter.

Bio
Ms. Andjela Sakota joined MDPI in November 2019. She holds a BS.c. degree in physics and is currently working on a master's thesis in the engineering/project management field. She has been working as an Assistant Editor and Section Managing Editor for the journal Sensors and recently began her role as a Journal Relations Specialist for the same journal. In addition to her editorial work, she has also worked as a Group Leader for Section 1 and the Mechanical Engineering Section in the Serbia offices since September 2022.

Bio
Ms. Berezoschi Bianca Raluca holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania. She joined MDPI in 2020 and has since undertaken various roles within the editorial department. Currently serving as a Journal Relations Specialist, she focuses on cultivating strong relationships with scholars, readers, and other stakeholders, overseeing the development and strategic direction of internal and external relations for MDPI journals.

This session introduces MDPI and the open access publishing model and highlights journals in the engineering, electrical and electronics, and environment and ecology fields. It also offers a concise overview of MDPI’s editorial process, covering peer review and ethical practices.

Developed by MDPI’s Author Services team, this section provides effective strategies for crafting clear, coherent manuscripts, and improving logical flow, readability, and impactful communication with reviewers and readers.

How to Respond to Peer Reviewers

Speaker: Ms. Bianca Raluca Berezoschi

This session will guide authors on effectively addressing major and minor revision comments from peer reviewers. Participants will learn how to make the necessary adjustments to their manuscripts while ensuring that all feedback is adequately addressed. By mastering this process, authors can improve their chances of successful publication.
