Event Chair

Center for Medical Research, Medical University of Graz, Austria,
Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering GmbH, Austria,
Medical Faculty, University of Tübingen, Germany
Eleonore Fröhlich is a biochemist and medical doctor with specialization in anatomy, histology and embryology. Her current affiliations include the Medical University of Graz (Director of the Core Facility Imaging at the Center for Medical Research), the Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering (Key Researcher), and the University of Tübingen (Extraordinary Professor at the Institute of Anatomy). Her research activities aim at linking basic science and clinical research by using physiologically relevant 2D and 3D cell cultures and various cellular readout parameters. Her particular interest is the evaluation of the toxic effects of inhaled pharmaceutical and environmental particles on the respiratory system. Eleonore Fröhlich acts as a reviewer for ~ 250 scientific journals in the fields of toxicology, pharmacy and endocrinology and for ~ 30 national funding agencies including the European Commission.
Keynote Speakers

The Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research, Tel Aviv University, Israel
Ayala Lampel is an Associate Professor in the Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel Aviv University, Israel. She earned her Ph.D. in Biotechnology and B.Sc. in Neuroscience from Tel Aviv University. Following her doctoral studies, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), City University of New York (CUNY), where she developed bioinspired supramolecular peptide materials, with a particular focus on melanin-inspired materials. In 2019, Ayala returned to Israel to establish her independent research group at Tel Aviv University as an Assistant Professor. She is also a fellow at the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF Fellow). Her contributions to the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the ERC Starting Grant and the Nanomaterials 2024 Young Investigator Award. Her research group focuses on the design and investigation of phase-separated materials and biomolecular condensates for applications in drug delivery, biosensing, and catalysis. Ayala lives in Tel Aviv with her husband and three young children. She enjoys cycling to work, traveling, and painting.

Department of Biomedical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China
Dr. Yu Song is currently a Presidential Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. Before joining CityU, he was a postdoctoral scholar in Prof. Wei Gao’s group at Caltech and he received his Ph.D. in at Peking University under the supervision of Prof. Haixia (Alice) Zhang. His research interests focus on bioelectronics, wearable sensors, advanced manufacturing, and digital medicine, to achieve wearable bioelectronics for personalized healthcare. In the related fields, he has authored over 80 publications (23 as first/corresponding author) including Science, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Electronics, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Science Robotics, Science Advances, etc., with over 9000 citations and h-index of 42, applied 18 US & China patents, and served as guest editor or independent reviewer for several journals. Dr. Song has been recognized as World’s Top 2% Scientist 2022 & 2023 (Stanford University & Elsevier Scopus) and received over 30 awards, including 2024 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia, 2024 Microsystems & Nanoengineering Young Scientist Award, 2019 Leadership Scholarship (Committee of 100) and 2020 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation by Chinese Institute of Electronics and China Education Society of Electronics.
