Bio
Prof. C. C. Chan, GBS, has obtained BSc, MSc, PhD, HonDSc, and HonDTech degrees. He holds several prestigious positions, including the following: Honorary Professor and the Former Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong; Distinguished Chair Professor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Founder of the International Academicians Science and Technology Innovation Centre; Founding and Rotating President of the World Electric Vehicle Association; Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K.; Life Fellow of IEEE; Fellow of IET; and Honorary Fellow of HKIE. He is also a recipient of the Royal Academy of Engineering Prince Philip Medal, Chinese Academy of Engineering Guang-Hua Prize, Gold Bauhinia Star Medal of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Gold Medal of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, “Father of Asian Electric Vehicles” by Magazine Global View, and the 2022 Touching China Award.

Reducing Fuel Consumption at Traffic Signals
Bio
Dr. Stevanovic is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Swanson School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Stevanovic earned his BSc degree in Traffic and Transportation Engineering at the University of Belgrade (Serbia), followed by his MSc and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering at the University of Utah. He presently teaches courses and conducts research in transportation engineering, traffic control, and intelligent transportation systems. Dr. Stevanovic has published more than 200 journal and conference papers and presented at more than 100 international, national, and state seminars. He has been a principal investigator on more than 35 research projects for a total of ~$5 million. Dr. Stevanovic is currently a member of the TRB Standing Committee on Traffic Simulation (ACP80) and a Fulbright Specialist in the area of urban network traffic control. He is also an ASCE Fellow, as well as a member of ITE and other professional societies in transportation. He serves on the Editorial Boards of eight scientific journals and is a paper reviewer for over 50 scientific journals and conference proceedings.
