Professor Francois Roubille followed a double curriculum during his medical studies in Paris, by integrating the scientific course of the Ecole Normale Supérieure Ulm, Paris, France. During his clinic he completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Montreal Heart Institute from 2012 to 2013. Appointed Professor in Cardiology, he is in charge of the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit in the University hospital of Montpellier, France. He also coordinates the Heart Failure team. He is involved in numerous clinical studies on heart failure and is a signatory to more than 240 publications referenced pubmed including 1 New England Journal of Medicine signed as the last author. He is the leader of 2 multicenter projects focused on Heart Failure (PRADO Project for Return Home – ICAM Project: Biomarker-Guided Therapy for Heart Failure). Professor F. Roubille is very involved in the learning societies of cardiology. Former president of the French group for acute cardiac care, he is currently president of the Heart Failure group of the French Society of Cardiology.

Dr. Kana Fujikura is a Cardiologist specializing in multimodality cardiovascular imaging at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, NY and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook University. Prior to her current position, Dr. Fujikura was a Staff Clinician at the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory within the Cardiology Branch of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health. She was trained in CMR as a T32 fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and earned the MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Fujikura has been actively engaged in performing research, teaching, and promoting multimodality assessment of cardiovascular disease. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, and American Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Dr. Fujikura served as the guest editor of a well-received special issue of “Cardiovascular Imaging: Opportunities and Challenges in Clinical Application” from January 2021 to May 2022.

Leandro Slipczuk Bustamante, MD, PhD, FACC is a board certified cardiologist, Director of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Program and the Cardiovascular Atherosclerosis and Lipid Disorder Center at Montefiore Cardiology Division. Additionally, Dr. Slipczuk is an Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is the treatment of coronary artery disease, familial hypercholesterolemia and lipid disorders in both prevention and established diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, hypertension, valvular heart disease and heart failure with a comprehensive clinical and multimodality imaging approach. In 2007, Dr. Slipczuk received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires. He continued studying at this institution, and in 2010 received his Doctor of Philosophy. Dr. Slipczuk began his postgraduate training with a residency in internal medicine at Einstein Medical Center, which he completed in 2013. He then completed a fellowship in cardiology and advanced cardiovascular imaging in 2016 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Slipczuk’s research focus is on the identification of high-risk patients and plaque features, lipid disorders, cardiovascular imaging and valvular heart disease. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and articles. Dr. Slipczuk is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in cardiovascular CT, comprehensive adult echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is an active member of the National Lipid Association where he is a member of the publications committee as well as the imaging and cardiometabolic working groups. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
