Lilia Ganova-Raeva received her MS degree in Molecular and Functional Biology from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in 1986, her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Biology from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and the University of Georgia, Athens, (UGA) in 1994. She was a Biologist at BAS from June 1986 to September 1987, a Research Coordinator at UGA from 1991 to 1999, and a Microbiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 1999 to 2007. She has been a Senior Service Fellow at CDC since June 2007 and is an experienced Senior Researcher with a demonstrated history of working for the US federal government's Public Health Services. She has authored over 60 publications and 7 book chapters. Her skills include Sequence Analysis, Mutagenesis, Next Generation Sequencing, Bioinformatics, Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction, Process Development, Automation, Multiplexing, and Advanced Molecular Detection technologies.
