Welcome from the Chair

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the MDPI journal Toxics (ISSN: 2305-6304; Impact Factor: 4.6) and its Scientific Committee, I am pleased to invite you to participate in the 1st International Electronic Conference on Toxics. This meeting will be held online from 20-22 March 2024.

The aim of this platform is to bring together students, researchers, and scientists from around the world to present their work and exchange ideas on the exposure, effects, and risks of chemicals and materials on humans and the natural environment, as well as on the development of new approaches to assess and/or manage the toxicological and ecotoxicological risks of chemicals and materials. The topics are organized into six sessions, corresponding to the following journal Sections:

1. Environmental Contaminants and Health.
2. Drugs Toxicity and Safety.
3. Toxicological Mechanisms of Toxicants.
4. Identification and Quantification of Toxicants.
5. Novel Methods in Toxicology Research.
6. Toxicity Reduction and Environmental Remediation.

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the conference committee and, if accepted, authors can choose to submit proceedings papers or posters, potentially alongside a PowerPoint and/or video presentation of their work. All accepted abstracts will be published as one dedicated volume in the Proceedings journal (ISSN: 2504-3900).

The 1st International Electronic Conference on Toxics offers you the opportunity to participate in this international, scholarly conference without having the concern or expenditure of travel fees. We would like to invite you to “attend” this conference by presenting your latest work. Abstracts (in English) should be submitted online before 20 November 2023.

Kind regards,
Dr. Demetrio Raldúa

Introduction
Bio
Dr. Demetrio Raldúa (IDAEA-CSIC, Spain) is specialized in various aspects of vertebrate physiology and toxicology. After working for some years in thyroid disruption, his current research interest is the understanding of the molecular basis of the neurotoxic effects of environmental pollutants and drugs, using zebrafish as an experimental model. This work contributes to the building of new adverse outcome pathways (AOPs) of neurotoxic compounds by linking molecular pathways to adverse effects at the neurobehavioural level.
