Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology and Geriatrics, Clinical Centre Stuttgart, Bad Cannstatt, Germany;Prof. Dr. Ralf Lobmann, with over 30 years of experience, is a highly accomplished specialist in endocrinology, diabetology, geriatrics, and andrology. Throughout his career, he has achieved various milestones, such as becoming a Full Professor in 2010 and receiving a qualification as a Diabetologist from the German Diabetes Society in 2004. Dr. Lobmann currently heads the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology, and Geriatrics at the Stuttgart Hospital – Bürgerhospital, showcasing his expertise and leadership in the field. With a background that includes roles as a Senior Physician and Assistant Consultant in renowned medical institutions, Dr. Lobmann brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to his practice. His dedication to patient care and continuous learning have made him a respected figure in the medical community. Dr. Lobmann's focus on research and scientific publications underscores his commitment to advancing treatments in endocrine disorders, diabetes, and geriatric care, ultimately benefiting his patients and the healthcare industry.

Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences “Rodolfo Paoletti" - DiSFeB Università degli Studi di Milano;Degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology (1992) at the Università degli Studi di Milano working on the effects of HMGCoA reductase inhibitors on carotid intimal thickening in normocholesterolemic rabbits. Specialization in Pharmacology (1994) studying the effects of recombinant apolipoprotein A-IMilano dimer on carotid intimal thickening induced by perivascular manipulation in rabbits. PhD in Biotechnology (2000) at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, University of California, USA, directed by Prof. Edward M. Rubin generating mouse models using the gene targeting strategy. Research activity mainly focused on the investigation of: lipoprotein pathophysiology through (i) generation of mice that express human proteins involved in lipoprotein metabolism, (ii) definition of genotype-phenotype relationships, (iii) characterization of specific pathways of lipid/lipoprotein metabolism. The effects of novel dietary or pharmacologic treatments on atherosclerosis progression/regression in vivo by invasive (IntraVascularUltraSound-IVUS) and non-invasive techniques (magnetic resonance imaging-MRI), and ex-vivo by histology. The gut microbiome-heart-brain axis and the relationship between HDL and inflammatory-based diseases.
Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Foggia, Foggia, Italy;Francesco Bellanti, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Foggia, Italy, and a physician at the University Hospital Policlinico Riuniti of Foggia. His research focuses on the molecular and clinical mechanisms of ageing and age-related diseases, with particular interest in redox biology, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammaging, metabolic disorders. He has been involved in several national and international research projects in these fields and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications. He also serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics.
School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health, University of Plymouth, Plymouth, UK;I am a registered nurse with many years experience in clinical and research into pain and ageing, in recognition of my contribution to the field of pain, I have been awarded and honorary diploma in pain medicine and an award for leading the field of pain and ageing by IASP. My work has been in the field of pain and frailty, dementia and falls and I am currently working on a study looking at overprescribing analgesics in the older population. I lead a number of projects in this area funded by organisations such as MRC, ESRC and NIHR In terms of research methodology, I have conducted studies using a range of methodologies including quantitative (RCTs and surveys) and primarily qualitative including interviews and focus groups. I have collaborations across many UK institutions along with US and Europe. My main area of expertise is co-design methodology (participatory) working with various groups in designing projects, implementing, evaluating and publishing in this area. I have provided research training to my co-design participants.
