Building on the success of previous edition, we are delighted to announce Nutrients 2026 - Clinical Nutrition: from Research to Practice. This year’s event is supported by MDPI’s open access journal Nutrients (ISSN: 2072-6643, Impact Factor 5.8). Mark 22-24 October 2026 on your calendars, as we gather in the vibrant city of Barcelona, Spain.

This conference offers a vital platform for exploring the latest advancements in clinical nutrition, connecting cutting-edge research with practical applications. We will delve into the following key areas:

1. Personalized nutrition based on diet-gene interactions;
2. Innovations in clinical nutrition;
3. Novel dietary recommendations for specific chronic diseases;
4. Understanding the role of microbiota in clinical practice;
5. The potential role of AI in clinical practice;
6. Lifestyle and prevention of chronic diseases.

Researchers, food industry representatives, policymakers, and anyone interested in clinical nutrition's evolving landscape are invited to this enlightening event.

This conference will feature internationally renowned speakers and welcome submissions for oral presentations and posters across these impactful sessions. Presenters will be encouraged to submit full manuscripts for consideration in a Special Issue of Nutrients.

Prof. Carlo  La  Vecchia

Prof. Carlo La Vecchia

University of Milan ("La Statale"), Italy;
"Whole grains, healthy and sustainable diets and gastric cancer: pooled analyses of the Stomach Cancer Pooling (StoP) Consortium" Dr. La Vecchia received his Medical Degree from the University of Milan and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Medicine (Epidemiology) from Oxford University. He is recognized as a leading authority in cancer etiology and epidemiology. Presently, he is Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the School of Medicine at the University of Milan. He is among the most renowned and productive epidemiologists with over 2520 peer-reviewed papers in the literature (PubMed), and he is among the most highly cited medical researchers (2003, 2017-2024), according to Clarivate Analytics, the developer and publisher of the Science Citation Index. Dr. La Vecchia is a temporary advisor at the World Health Organization in Geneva and a registered journalist in Milan. Dr. La Vecchia’s main fields of interest include cancer epidemiology and the risk related to diet, tobacco, hormone use and occupational or environmental exposure to toxic substances; and analysis of temporal trends and geographical distribution of mortality from cancer, cardiovascular diseases, perinatal and other selected conditions

Barcelona

Barcelona is the capital and largest city of Catalonia and is Spain's second-largest city, with a population of over one and a half million people.

Located on the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Spain, this city has a rich and diverse history, with its roots dating back to Roman times. The fruitful medieval period established Barcelona's position as the economic and political center of the Western Mediterranean. The city's Gothic Quarter bears witness to the splendor enjoyed by the city from the 13th to the 15th centuries.

The 20th century ushered in widespread urban renewal throughout Barcelona, culminating in its landmark Eixample district, which showcases some of Barcelona's most distinctive Catalan art-nouveau, or modernista, buildings. The Catalan Antoni Gaudí, one of the most eminent architects, designed buildings such as La Pedrera, the Casa Batlló, and the Sagrada Família church, which have become world-famous landmarks.

In 1992, Barcelona gained international recognition by hosting the Olympic games, which brought about a massive upturn in its tourism industry. For visitors, this has translated into the very modern yet incredibly old city you see now in the 21st century, where new elements work to both preserve and celebrate the city’s heritage and origins.

Barcelona has plenty of outdoor markets, restaurants, shops, museums, and churches. The city is also very walkable, with an extensive and reliable Metro system for more far-flung destinations.
