Building on the success of our previous forums, including the 3rd Basel Sustainable Publishing Forum, this year marks an exciting milestone as we launch the event on the international stage. We are delighted to invite you to join us in Barcelona on 13th and 14th November 2025 for this exciting two-day conference.

Sustainable Publishing Forum (SPF 2025)

Research Data Management, Scientific Publication, Repositories, and Open Access Policies, CSIC;
Remedios Melero holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Valencia. She is a researcher at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and editor of the scientific journal Food Science and International Technology. She is also an editor for the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), a member of the scientific committee of Redalyc and Scielo Spain, and coordinator of the Spanish Open Access to Science working group. Currently, she is involved in a national project related to research data and open science. She is a member of the thematic network MAREDATA and a partner in the FOSTER+ project (Facilitate Open Science Training for European Research), which promotes European policies on open science and provides training on related topics.
UOC Open University of Catalonia;
Dr. Alexandre López-Borrull is an associate professor at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), where he is the director of the Bachelor's Degree in Information and Documentation. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a Bachelor's degree in Documentation from the UOC. As a researcher, he has worked on the legal aspects of information and electronic information sources in science and technology, and has participated in various research and transfer projects. His current research interests are related to disinformation and open science. He is also a member of the GAME research group (UOC).
Head of the Research Unit, Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI), University of Barcelona;
Dr. Ignasi Labastida is the Rector's Delegate for Scientific Publications and Open Science at the University of Barcelona where he is also the head of research support at its library (known as CRAI). Past chair of the Board at SPARC Europe and the Policy Group on Information and Open Access at the League of European Research Universities (LERU). He has participated in the development of the Catalan Strategic Plan on Open Science and the Spanish National Strategy on Open Science. He is also part of the negotiation team for open access agreements at the Spanish Rectors' Conference. Since his involvement in introducing Creative Commons licenses in Spain in 2003, he has been working on copyright and openness.
