Welcome from the Chair

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming conference, the 1st International Online Conference on Lubricants and Tribological Contacts (IOCLTC 2026). This online conference is organised by the MDPI open access journal Lubricants (ISSN: 2075-4442) and will be held on 16–17 November 2026.

This first conference will cover a significant part of the very broad scope and themes of the journal, which is rather unique in the field of tribology and associated disciplines. The program is structured around the following key sessions:

S1. Lubricants
S2. Lubricated Contacts
S3. Mechanics of Contacts
S4. Friction, Wear, Corrosion and Fatigue
S5. Emerging Trends in Tribology

Engage directly with cutting-edge research, exchange insights with global academic and industry leaders, and build valuable connections. We ensure inclusive participation by offering free online registration, eliminating geographical and financial barriers to knowledge and networking. All submitted abstracts undergo review by our esteemed scientific committee, guaranteeing a conference program of exceptional quality and relevance.

We are deeply indebted to Lubricants, the cornerstone journal enabling this inaugural conference. As a major forum since 2013, Lubricants has promoted scientific progress through high-impact publications, fair and rigorous review processes, and strong community engagement, including impactful Travel Grants and conference sponsorships. The journal now extends its proactive commitment directly through establishing this conference series. This event mirrors Lubricants' broad scope and thematic priorities, further solidifying its pivotal role in advancing tribology research globally.

We, therefore, invite you to participate and contribute your research findings to an event which is sure to be successful and ground-breaking.

Kind regards,
Prof. Dr. Homer Rahnejat
