Welcome from the Chairs
Dear Colleagues,
Building on the success of the 2024 edition, the 2nd International Online Conference on Photonics (IOCP2026) will once again bring together leading researchers from around the world to share recent advances in optics and photonics.
The conference is organized by the MDPI open access journal Photonics (ISSN: 2304-6732, Impact Factor 1.9) and will be held online on 14–16 December 2026.
“Optics and photonics have grown into a broad research field, with significant progress in both fundamental and applied studies, spanning theory and experiment. Core topics include linear and nonlinear optics; conservative and dissipative media; continuous and discrete systems such as photonic lattices; light propagation in temporal, spatial, and spatiotemporal domains; and the formation of one-, two-, and three-dimensional optical patterns. In dissipative systems, such as laser cavities, losses may be compensated for by intrinsic gain or external pumping, while recent interest has also focused on systems emulating fractional diffraction or dispersion. These advances are driven by the close synergy between theoretical and experimental work.
Remarkable progress has been achieved in optical solitons, including bright, dark, and composite solitons in multi-component systems, particularly in two and three dimensions. The creation and stabilization of multidimensional and vortex solitons, as well as bound states known as soliton molecules, remain active research areas. Related studies in nonlinear dissipative systems have also enabled advances in frequency comb generation with strong application potential.
Further impressive developments include the design and experimental realization of metamaterials and metasurfaces, which enable efficient control of linear and nonlinear light propagation and the generation of light fields with intrinsic topological structures. Recent studies have also reported complex topological optical modes, such as hopfions and skyrmions.”
The IOCP2026 Conference warmly welcomes the presentation of original research findings and review contributions on the above-mentioned topics, as well as other emerging studies in optics and photonics.
We very much look forward to your participation.
Kind regards,
IOCP2026 Event Chairs;
Prof. Dr. Boris Malomed, Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, Tel Aviv University.
Prof. Dr. Pasquale Pagliusi, Department of Physics, University of Calabria.

Registration
The registration for IOCP 2026 is free of charge. Registration includes access to all conference sessions.
We are pleased to confirm that a Certificate of Attendance will be available to all registered participants. The certificate can be accessed and downloaded via the Sciforum website after the conference has concluded, provided that the participant has attended the live sessions.
If you are registering multiple participants, please do not use the same email address for different individuals. Each participant must register using their individual university email address, as Zoom will generate a unique access link for each registered attendee.
Please note that abstract submission and conference registration are two separate processes. Only participants who complete the registration will receive the link to access the live conference sessions.
The registration deadline is 9 December 2026.
Instructions for Authors
The 2nd International Online Conference on Photonics accepts abstracts only. Authors are encouraged to submit original and novel research. Please note that literature review submissions will not be accepted for this event.
The accepted abstracts will be available online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference.
Important Deadline
1. Deadline for abstract submission: 17 August 2026
2. Abstract acceptance notification: 17 September 2026
You will be notified of the acceptance of an oral/poster presentation in a separate email.
Abstract submissions should be completed online by registering with www.sciforum.net and using the "Submit Abstract" function once logged into the system. No physical template is necessary.
1. The abstract structure should include the introduction, methods, results, and conclusions sections of about 200–300 words in length.
2. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear, publication-ready English with accurate grammar and spelling.
3. You may submit multiple abstracts. However, only one abstract will be selected for oral and/or poster presentation.
4. The abstracts submitted to this conference must be original and novel, without prior publication in any journals, or they will not be accepted to this conference.
Detailed Requirements:
1. The submitting author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of the contents of the abstract.
2. Please select only one presenter for each submission. If you would like to change the presenter after submission, please email us accordingly.
3. The institutional emails of all authors are requested.
4. The requirements for full affiliation information include (1) Department/School/Faculty/Campus; (2) University/Company/Institute; (3) City; (4) Post/ZIP code or equivalent, where available; (5) Country.
Note: We accept live presentations only. All speakers are required to attend the LIVE session and present their own work.
Pre-recorded presentations are not permitted.
The slot for the oral presentation is 15 mins. We advise that your presentation last for a maximum of 12 mins, leaving at least 3 mins for the Q&A session.
Authors are encouraged to prepare a presentation in PowerPoint or similar software to be displayed online along with the abstract.

MDPI, the publisher of the Sciforum.net platform, is an open access publisher. We believe authors should retain the copyright to their scholarly works. Hence, by submitting an abstract to this conference, you retain the copyright to the work, but you grant MDPI the non-exclusive right to publish this abstract online on the Sciforum.net platform. This means you can easily submit your full paper (with the abstract) to any scientific journal at a later stage and transfer the copyright to its publisher if required.
