Welcome from the Chair

Dear Colleagues:

It is a pleasure to announce the 2nd International Online Conference on Agriculture – Research Achievements and Challenges (IOCAG2023). This e-conference is organized by Agriculture, a peer-reviewed open access international journal of MDPI (ISSN: 2077-0472, Impact Factor: 3.408 (2021)). IOCAG2023 will be held online at IOCAG2023.sciforum.net from 1 to 15 November 2023.

Agriculture was a major development in human history, leading to the rise of civilizations. It plays a critical role in human society, serving as the backbone of economic systems. Modern agriculture provides the raw materials for food and many industrial products, including textiles. Significant scientific and technological advances over the years have led to large increases in agricultural productivity, as well as to reducing the environmental impacts. Nevertheless, agricultural systems of the future face huge challenges in balancing and optimizing productivity and profitability against the stewardship of ecosystems and natural resources. This conference will provide an online open forum for agricultural scientists and engineers to discuss these challenges and share their latest research achievements in agricultural science and technology. The topics of the conference will be organized around the following sessions:

S1. Ecosystem, Environment and Climate Change in Agriculture;
S2. Agricultural Systems and Management;
S3. Agricultural Soils;
S4. From Field to Consumers: Challenges and Approaches to High-Quality Agricultural Products;
S5. Agricultural Water Management;
S6. Artificial Intelligence for Advanced Analyses in Agriculture;
S7. Breeding for Sustainable Agriculture Intensification in a Changing World;
S8. Climate-Smart Agriculture: Practices, Determinants, Productivity and Efficiency;
S9. Crop Production;
S10. Poster Session.

IOCAG2023 will bring together researchers from all over the world without the need to travel or incur related expenses. The conference will feature live-streamed webinars and include both invited speakers and contributing speakers from the submissions. The webinars will contain a Q and A session to for live online audiences. Participation in and attendance at IOCAG2023 will be free of charge.

The conference invites the submission of abstracts, which will be reviewed by the conference committee. The authors of accepted contributions will be invited to submit a proceedings paper, a slideshow presentation or a poster and/or a video presentation of their work. All of the participants will have the opportunity to examine, explore and critically engage with research findings published in Sciforum during the conference.

All of the accepted proceedings papers will be published in the proceedings of this e-conference within a dedicated issue in the MDPI journal Biology and Life Sciences Forum (ISSN: 2673-9976). In addition, all of the participants will be encouraged to submit a full paper to one dedicated Special Issue in Agriculture with a 20% discount on the Article Processing Charge (APC).

Instructions for Authors

Submission
The authors should submit submissions online by logging in IOCAG2023.sciforum.net and using the “Submit Abstract” function once logged into the system.

Note: Institutional email address is requested especially for the corresponding author.

1. Scholars interested in participating in the conference can submit their abstract (about 200–250 words) online on this website until 26 June 2023. 27 July 2023

2. The Conference Committee will notify the acceptance of the abstract by 16 August 2023.
3. If the abstract is accepted for this conference, the author will be asked to submit a minimum of one of the following: a proceedings paper (3-6 pages), a poster, a slides presentation (in PDF), or a short video presentation (max. 3–5 minutes). This should be ready by the submission deadline of 13 September 2023. If you submit a proceedings paper, you need to upload the Word and PDF versions in Original files (zip/word) and Manuscript PDF, respectively. If you choose to submit a poster, a slides presentation (in PDF), or a short video presentation (max. 3–5 minutes), please submit the abstract in Word and PDF format in Original files (zip/word) and Manuscript PDF, respectively. Authors will receive a notification about the acceptance of their papers by 27 September 2023.
4. The manuscripts and presentations will be available on sciforum.net for discussion and rating during the time of the conference, from 1–15 November 2023.
5. All submissions will be reviewed using the powerful text comparison tool iThenticate. This procedure aims to prevent scholarly and professional plagiarism. Submissions will then be peer-reviewed by conference committees based on originality/novelty, quality of presentation, scientific soundness, interest to the readers, overall merit and English level. After the conference, all submissions will be published on sciforum.net. Only the proceeding paper (3-6 pages) will be published in the MDPI journal Biology and Life Sciences Forum (ISSN: 2673-9976).
Note: Publication of proceedings paper is free of charge.
Before publication, Biology and Life Sciences Forum journal will check the plagiarism issue again. Submissions with a lack of novelty will not be published in the journal.
6. The open access journal Agriculture (ISSN: 2077-0472, Impact Factor: 3.408 (2021)) will publish a dedicated conference Special Issue: Selected Papers from 2nd International Online Conference on Agriculture—Research Achievements and Challenges (IOCAG2023). Conference participants are encouraged to submit a full paper to the dedicated Special Issue and will receive a 20% discount on the Article Processing Charges (APC).
Note: The submission to the Agriculture journal is independent of the conference proceedings and will follow the usual process of the journal, including peer-review, APC, etc.
